my apexi exhaust catback system. while inspecting the exhaust system for leaks cause I had an unusual loud and deep tone I found that the inner part of the apexi muffler has rusted out and from behind the muffler I can see the inside of it. now. I tought this was a stainless steel muffler. but not sure anymore. anyone know what type of metal the apexi muffler is? i wanna know cause im taking it off so the local muffler shop can fix this part.

thanks

Isnt it possible that an excessive amount of moisture on the inside of the exhaust can eat through any material after a period of time? Even stainless.

Wow that sucks. I always thought the Apexi mufflers were stainless but im not sure. I would just slap a Magnaflow on that baby now.

mine did the same exact thing. I ended buying a new generic muffler which i hate to death its loud and disgusting so i have to run a silencer.

You should try contacting Apexi about that..

I'd like to know what they say. Was the muffler cleaned with any acidic cleaner? that might have been the case.

mine did the SAME THING.

except ive got an hks carbon ti muffler laying around that im going to slap on in place of the POS apex n1 "stainless steeeeel"
