That's right i was given a used universal Apexi style muffler, but the thing is its 2.5 inlet and ive got 2" stock. I can buy the adapter but my question is this a bad idea putting a muffler that came off of a N/A car and putting it on a Turbo car? Is this a Rice boy idea? I dont know if its a bad idea im gonna say he can keep it, but we are wanting to do it tonight if it will work. Im really not wanting to weld it all on and have all the back pressure from the turbo to sh*t the fart can off. Let me know if this is a bad or O.K. for temporary amount. I plan to get full 3" sometime before september, so let me know if this is ok.--Thanks guys-Tony

if you look at the muffler through one end, do you see the exit on the other? kinda like looking through a pipe...

if so, then it'll give you some noise - but it'll offer some power, though most likely nonrecognizable by the assometer

hey guys, i welded it all up and drove around late last night, and to be suprised it was actually a nice deep purr, really deep to be honest for stock piping. But then again its a d*mn muffler so i dont want to be a riceboy and brag anymore about my fart can LOL. I get my piping next month, but the sh*tty thing is, is that it will only be 2.5" - i cant get 3" around here legally anyways. But i dont think i need 3" considering im just going to have a 14b. I dont really plan on spending the BiG $$$ on 16g unless i find it off the side of the road or someone gives it away :p . Thanks for the replies guys-Tony :dsm:

You will want to change to a 2.5 turboback lateron once you get more mods under your belt.

You can run 3 inch exhaust on it, but creep will be a big issue. Nothing a good port job and big flapper cant fix. 2.5 would be good enough for your goals. I would look at RNR for there O2 back exhaust. They make a nice product and the price is right.

PS I noticed you said legally. Please explain the legality of 3 inch.

I meant the way i want my 3" to be, which is straight through, which is illegal in alot of places. But for some reason the muffler shop right down the road wont sell me 3" piping and bends to do it myself, but they will sell me 2.5"? (Just the piping) I'm NOT an expert welder but i think i can get the job done. --Tony

The only thing that would be illegal would be the absence of a cat. Other than that all sizes shold be good to go. If you get a 3 inch high flow cat you will be fine with 3 inch.
