By Friday I should have my SCM34 and 680 injectors in the car.

At what settings should I start tuning my SAFC?

All constructive input is welcome.

First off, lower your base fuel pressure to about 43. It looks like you have a FPR that doesn't allow you to lower it at all, so try and get it as low as you can...meaning, dont raise it to 60.

Then try and get your fuel trims at about 100. Start out with about -19 across the low on the afc as a starting point once you get your turbo and injectors.

He's a 2g, and we have different fuel trims settings than 1g; i.e. we don't shoot for 100, we shoot for "0", plus or minus 1.

When I had my safc and 660's (I use the gm maft now but going back to tuning with the safc here soon), I had my low's in the -25% range, and my high's in the -33% range. I would start out with -20% or -25% across the board for you low settings, and -25% to -30% for your high settings. See how stft are doing, and adjust the low settings to get stft to be about "0", ltft will then follow suit. High tuning, use rpm, throttle, timing and o2 voltage. There's kpt's tuning guide posted everywhere so take a look at that.

Got some basic tuning done tonight.

Low throttle 30, high throttle 80
Ne points 1, 2, 3, 4, 4.5, 5, 6, 7
Low adjustments 0, 0, 0, 0, -25, -25, -25, -25
High adjustments 0, 0, 0, 0, -35, -35, -35, -35

Results:
  1. Boost threshhold at 4000 (so basically no boost around town or on the highway while cruising = much better gas mileage even with the 680s)
  2. Full boost at 4500rpm
  3. Blows through first gear like crazy (60-ft and 1/8th times should be very nice)
  4. Pulls at 12psi steady all the way to redline (and beyond I'm sure)
  5. No problems with oil pressure
  6. No problems with cooling temps (had to put a slim fan on the pass. side to clear the compressor)
  7. Butt dyno reads about 300 AWHP

Slips on the way.

Those spool rates sound very slow for that turbo.
I guess the "boost threshhold" may be the term that I'm using incorrectly. It starts to build boost around 3000rpm, but it's very low pressure. 5psi @ 3500rpm, 10psi @ 4000rpm, 12psi @ 4500rpm.

From my first log, STFT is an almost constant "0" while under full boost. LTFT stays at "-12" regardless of rpm.

Ideas?

Your running 680 injectors and taking away 0 fuel until 4000...

With those settings you are running really rich up until boost hit's...lean it out alot in the 1-4k range and I bet the boost will come on much sooner.

You don't get 12 psi until 4500 rpm!?! Oh MAN, that is bad.

If the LTFT is -12, then you're way rich.

Why did you go 30% (or more) lean everywhere but 1000, 2000, and 3000 rpm? You're probably VERY VERY rich in that engine speed range.

Tune the car at idle, 2000 rpm cruise, and 3000 rpm cruise.

I decide to err on the side of caution. Better to have too much fuel than lean it out and detonate something.

I'll try leaning it out a bit on the 0-4k range, but too much adjusting down makes the car run terribly at high throttle.

Retarded question just to make sure I'm not chasing my tail:
Adjusting the AFC in the downward direction leans the mix, right?

If you adjust the 0-4k settings it will not effect the car in the upper rpms at all. And yes down is leaner
:thumb:

Think about it...If your at -35 when the car is in boost and obviously needs way more fuel, why would you be at 0 when the car doesn't need as much fuel.
