Anyone w/ a FWD 3 inch exhaust.....

Well a local muffler shop told me that could make me 2.5 catback for $150. I wanted 3 inch but it wont fit where the stock is routed. I know people with the 3 inch have it routed under but would it scrape with the car lowered 1-2 inches???

Hey on my 2G GST i have 3 inch exhaust which is routed under. It is lowered 2 inches and has 18's and i have never scraped it out on the road or in parking lots. However I am careful with it having to use a board to drive up my driveway and going out of store parking lots at angles.

First things first: Ask the shop if the exhuast will be mandrel bent. If he say no or "you don't really need that" then hang up and forget.

Secondly, "1-2 inches" is a big difference. Is it one inch or two? What springs are you using that will tell me. Mostly, 3" exhausts should fit fine on any car up to 2" lowered. Careful of speedbumps....

He told me it wasnt mandrel bent, but the the way they bend it doesnt leave kinks. I was about to order some adjustable coilovers and prolly lower it 1.5inches.

most muffler shops wil not make u a mandrel bend system. They are all old skool guys that think flowmaster is god. A 3" pressbent system is toughly equal to a 2.5" mandrel bent system. Just by a 3" turbo back off the shelf. I know RNR still has their specail goin for $500 for turbo back.

Haha, no, it didn't sound rice unless I'm standing next to you and your car and your only mods are graphics, a big wing, underbody lights, and a ebay muffler. :laugh:

same as game over..... i have a 2 inch lowered car with full 3 inch turbo back and no scrapage of the actual exhaust... but the U-clamps sometimes hit the ground over a speed bump or something... but im gonna change their position to fix that... you'll be fine
