I just got my hx40w in the mail today. I got it off ebay from a guy that sells used turbos. I noticed it has a cracked fin on the compressor wheel. I saw some on ebay the other day but i dont know anything about them. If you have any experience with the ebay wheel or know the part number for a 8 blade wheel i would be greatful. thanks

Does it say its titanium?

The one I just searched for says it is made by holset, so I guess its real? Looks like they are saying all of their stuff is real, looks like wholesale pricing for most of the replacement stuff, good deals!

Yeah just saw that's the name of their company... so its a little deceiving. wow, $250 for a garrett GT42 CHRA, ill take two!
Their wheels do say they are made by holset, so that's some bs right there.

I used one of their turbine wheels for a customer that wanted to save some money after he found out a new Genuine HX40 turbine was over $400. To my knowledge it's still in his turbo and working fine, but I wouldn't trust one at high boost in my own turbo.

The turbine itself looked nice and fit flawlessly, but you could tell it had that "knockoff" appearance to it. Perhaps not a Chinese part, but definitely made somewhere like Taiwan.

I'm not saying their wheels are junk- I'd probably buy one again if my back was up against a wall and a customer needed to save money, but I just wanted to make it clear that you're not getting a Genuine Holset part for the money you're spending.

I've used BAE's rebuild kits in the past for oddball turbos like GT40's and stuff that you could normally only buy parts for through Garrett only for a price of nearly $200 and the BAE kits worked great at nearly half the cost.

I will keep that in mind. i call htturbo an d left a voicemail. I am going to keep looking around
