Pretty good price for everything included, found it on eBay, 100% feedback and they specialize in timing belt kits. What do you guys think?

"The timing and balance shaft belts are Contitech. The tensioner, balance shaft tensioner and the idler pulleys are GMB. The automatic tension adjuster is Genuine Mitsubishi. The water pump is GMB. The drive belts are Bando and or Contitech. This kit will service Mitsubishi Eclipse Turbo's with 2.0L, 4G63 engines with a year range of 1996-1999. The production date should be from 8/95-1999."

hey man. about 13k miles ago i changed my belts and water pump. i went with a kit on ebay. it wasnt a complete set like yours, basically what you got minus the valve cover gasket set and cam seals.

its been running just fine and have no problems. of course people will tell you not to go with this because its ebay.

these are not "ebay" brand. i forget the name but it was a reputable brand for supplying OEM replacement parts. you know those brands local shops, autozone, kragen, etc carry that obviously arent OEM.

I remember I checked those stores locally and they gave me a price and the brand (again I forget), I get the ebay, it was the very same brand but A LOT cheaper.

For example partsdinosaur. they are becoming a popular place now to order gaskets/seats/etc. They too carry some parts that local parts store will sell you but nearly double the price.

It's always that ebay scare factor. If you want reassurance check the manufacturer of the parts. I guess if you are paranoid you will never buy into these, wait about 50k more miles and I'll tell you how this ebay timing belt kit and water pump i have lasted :)

People just need to remember that ebay isn't a brand, and everything sold on ebay isn't cheap stuff, some of these kits use 100% quality hand picked components and they make their money buying in bulk and reselling.

They even use an OEM tensioner so i would say if they are reputal and have good feedback then go ahead and get it. I went the expensive route going through extremepsi and buying all oem pulleys/ tensioner and gates racing belts...

Look into the cost difference of using factory parts. If the belt breaks you are looking at a fairly high cost in collateral damage. Whenever I do any work on the timing belt side of the motor i.e. oil pump, tbelt, balance belt, water pump I always stick to oem. I have had problems with several different aftermarket waterpumps failing prematurely, but not one from mitsu. To me it's just not worth the risk for the little bit of savings. Especially when you compare the cost and downtime of replacing bent valves.

Yea but it isnt using any cheap brand or no name brand parts, I know GMB is OEM brand and everything else included is GMB, OEM and Conitech. I believe Conitech is also a good brand for waterpump, etc. Not completely sure. But does anyone know if those are considered good brands?

Contitech makes the oem timing and bshaft belts you would get at the dealer! i also believe bando and contitech manufacture the oem drive belts as well. Not sure about GMB? It looks like a nice kit actually!

As I've said before (http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/327698-itm-timing-belts.html#post151779687), Mitsubishi doesn't have their own belt factory making a handful of timing belts for their specific cars. Parts like timing belts and water pumps are outsourced.

GMB pumps are made in Japan. They're an OEM supplier, and they're one of the only aftermarket new water pump manufacturers I'd trust with an import. Many of their pumps will have the latest revisions for excellent service and performance.

I'm running a contitech belt on my car. I haven't put many miles on the car but, I've heard good things about their belts. It's very important to run a Mitsubishi tensioner and I see that the kit you posted has one. I'm also running a GMB water pump. That is a huge, complete kit. If I had to buy a complete kit, I would get that kit. Going all mitsubishi is ideal but, it will probably be closer to $600 for the mitsubishi version of that kit.

Well I purchased it and received it today! Fast shipping too. Everything was packaged perfectly and everything looks great! Everything is Conitech, GMB, OEM. Belts are Bando, but do look great as well. Here are pics of everything:

looks like a nice complete kit i used the same conitech timing belt didnt have any problems with it exept the tensioner came out of spec and leaked fluid replaced with all oem mitsu parts and the oem belt says mitsubishi on it its not the conitech belt oem

My daughter's 1.8L has a Conitech belt in it - don't know who replaced it, but looks like a good belt.

Contitech being a subsidary of Continental from Germany and Continental is one of the oldest European suppliers for the German and other European automakers.

Continental Tires couldn't be beat next to Michelin's.

Even Bando is one of the better belt manufacturers known around the world.

Looks like a winner replacement set there...

good luck on your rebuild. - DSM

Looks like I have a new kit to recommend to people thinking about timing belt jobs, that kit looks very well put together. :hellyeah:
