It has been a while since I've done any real car part shopping so bare with me. Doing a quick google search landed me on carid.com and it actually looks like a fairly reputable site with the large stock of everything they have.

I have a 96 TSi AWD but it has a 6 bolt swap. I'm not completely familiar with what is interchangable and which year(s) to shop for when it comes to engine related. So any input there as well is much appreciated.

Thanks.

I recommend NOTHING but OEM, unless you're talking about getting a nicer Gates belt for example...

Shop our support vendors sites with this list and add everything up.

Thanks for the info and part numbers. But I have to ask, is this all for a 96 or a 6-bolt? I rummaged through a few older topics on here about this in particular and from what I gather a 6-bolt has different everything except for the actual belt itself. According to the extremepsi site that Dimond linked, those part numbers match up for a 95-99.

I may give them a call and ask. If they have this wide a selection for just a DSM belt kit someone in there should know the difference since I don't(at the moment).

EDIT:

Oh and also I have no BS. It has been taken out.

JNZ is probably cheapest for oem. They have a minimal markup on mistu minimum oem prices. I have found thier prices to beat everyone's. STM seems to be the most expensive, but they are willing to cut deals. ExPSI is pretty close but they are very hard to convince to cut deals.

JNZ support is also amazing. Just give them a call and find out. or order through their oem mitsu parts catalog, using the provided part numbers.

I just ordered my parts from stm and waiting.. should be here in a day or too... I got the complete kit for 300 thanks to Jeremy @ STM

Yea. That's my fault, I looked at your profile and didn't see you had 6-bolt swap. Since that's the case these will be your part numbers.

Thanks dude. I really appreciate it. Timing is the one thing I'm not completely comfortable with doing on my own yet. So we'll see when the time comes I suppose..

and yeah I need to update the profile, but I have only had the car for a few days. So that's my excuse >_>

Nobody is comfortable doing a timing belt their very first time, we've all got to start somewhere though.

Any DSM toolbox should have these timing belt tools, it's $50 well spent...

Aha, that's the link I was looking for. I remember stumbling upon it from forum searching the other day and couldn't remember what it was called later on. Thanks again.
