im srry, yes a other idle thread but this one is different. my car has been doing this for a long time. unlike most threads saying that the car dies a few mins later my car will not die in low idle. after i drive home from work, or after any drive my car likes to idle at around 600 rpm. it dosent die and it dosent sound like it is having ant trouble on idle. just the headlights dim a tinny bit when it idles that low. just want to know if this could be a sign of something bad going to happen or just something normal?

Does it return to a more normal idle when the lights are not on? (700-850rpm)

DO you have any electrical issues with the car?

My last GST had an electrical short that would kill the battery when not running. When i would turn on the running or head lights my idle would fall to 350-600rpms.

1) no it stays at around 600 rpm at least from what i know. im going to try this out when i go to school tomorrow.
2) if i turn on my rear window defroster it dosent work and also my power locks dont work. dont know if the issue is just that they arent hooked up.

*edit* it only idles this low when it is running normal temp.

Looks normal to me. Idle is to be around 750 rpm and you're sitting at 700. Turn the BISS out a little bit slowly if you want it raised.

Do you happen to know why your Antilock light is on?

ever since the shop changed my rotors it has been on. idk if it still works or what.

*edit* after i reved it jumped to around 700. before i did that it was idling at around 600

I would just turn out the BISS a little and get the idle to where it's range should ideally be at.

If it hasn't died on you don't worry about it. My car idles around 500rpms on hot days and when i turn on my high beams and AC. It drops to 300rmps then quickly goes back to 500rpms. Its annoying but not really a problem yet.
