I have a E6K standalone and I am curious if it is pointless to put it in my 1990 gst if I am only going to be running 18 psi on the stock turbo. And how does the car run under Halitech, is it a everyday car. And would I be getting in a money pit if I decided to put it in?

Thank you

I'm not running the E6K but I will be running the E8. Haltech makes great products so I'm sure it'll run well. They actually have a Starion that runs low 9 second 1/4s with a 4g63. Not sure which EMS they are using in it though.

18psi on a stock turbo?!? no need for a haltech, you will be asking for a headache, just use a afc, or a dsmlink..you will be fine

With a haltech you can extract so much more power from a given system it's not even funny. there's a guy around here that came within a few hundreths of breaking the T25 record with nothing but astand alone, some 550's and the basic cat-back, K&N etc...

it makes the motor do what you want it to... NOT what the engineers thought should go on to make the motor last 100,000+ miles with some diot behind the wheel who doesn't een know what an oil change is.

There's a favorite quote of mine from an old issue of Turbo magazine wher they were building a integra to around 400+ horses and the builder quoted "when making this kind of power on an engine like this the only thing keeping the motor together at this HP range is a good tune from a stand alone system with none of the limitations of a factory ECU" (they were using an Accell DFI old version)
