Anybody run a GS with no cat?

I wouldn't go past 6000rpms. thats where your powers at anyways
I'm gonna have to slightly disagree with you there. If you shift right at 6k you're gonna drop below the meat of the powerband in most gears. Go a little past, maybe even 6500/6600. You don't have to bounce the limiter to get the best run but you don't want to shift too quickly. In my experience the bearings aren't the weak link, it's the valvetrain and the rings (if the HG doesn't go before the rest of it all ROFL ) Of all the 420A's that I've destroyed I have yet to spin a bearing.

Now if you're referring to street driving, then why the hell are you bouncing off the rev limiter regularly? That's just stupid :nono:

you should be shifting around 2.5k-3k on a regular basis daily driving, to save your gas and engine. As for actualy racing, then I think what you shift at really depends on your set-up and mainly in your set-up how you are tuned/ECU you are running.

I was just telling him that so he doesn't blow his motor... In my personal experience the bearings are the weak link. I know 4 personal dsmers with this problem. but I guess it varies.

Heres the problem solver... Don't race a passenger car. LOL

Done with this, we are getting off topic

^^ Not quite. Re-read the thread, don't skip mine or Ronin's posts this time.

This thread jumped all over the place. It went from running cats to backpressure to rod knocking to shifting lessons :p hahah
Theres some good info in here though :thumb:

The moral of this thread, dont run a 420a w/o a cat :thumb:

Edit it so say, "the moral of this thread is if you only care about how your car sounds, or don't want to hurt the enviroment, or live in an area with emissions checks, dont run a 420a w/o a cat :thumb: However if you want more power, then either eliminate the cat, or switch up to a high-flow cat

If so is it even worth it on a n/a? Did yous notice ANY gains at all? And how do you think the GS would sound without a car, resonater and a muffler (ebay :p )? Thanks alot :hellyeah:

yes I did it on my N/A and yes I saw NICE gains considering I removed it for free at an exhaust shop. they just took my cat and sold it to some dude and removed it for me for free and added a straight pipe LOL. it opens your car up by not restricting any exhaust from going out and it will make your car faster no doubt
