Any Muffler shop workers out there? (building four chamber system)

I have something similar on my car, using the same muffler. My old thermal r&d muffler had rusted through and I was tired of cop attention, so I put on the magnaflow and had a shop weld it on to my thermal exhaust. I picked up some tips after a whole lot of searching that looked stock enough for me. I've since been pulled over on a number of occasions for various things but not once have they bothered me about the exhaust :D

I had asked the guy to weld it horizontally like a stock muffler, but when he was done he said that wasn't possible with the 3" piping coming out the back. As you can see he opted to weld it at an angle, and paint it black to make it less conspicuous.

That's the look I'm talking about. :thumb:

That looks awesome.

I planned on going stealth since I live in VA. Seeing that my car is down. It's not nessecary at the moment.

Anyway. I was going to go with the BMW E46 325i OEM Tips

And have it welded to a unpolished Magnaflow muffler painted with high temp black paint, tucked under the bumper.

Ya, thats what I was hopeing for what TSIAWD666 has... but the muffler shop did there best to fix the RNR routing of to get the muffler in the position it is now for my car. I still like the dual tip better than the coffee can mufflers by far.

Well ya know you could always redo it. I know it probably isn't a priority, but I know that at least on my car, if it doesn't look the way I want it to, then it just doesn't work for me.

Well here are a couple pics of the components I just picked up for my stock looking exhaust setup. Dual 3" resonators, just like the factory setup, muffler is 3" in dual 2.5" out. Tips are dual 3" but only ones I could locate with 3" tip were 2.25" in, so I'll just have the installer expand them to match the 2.5" out on the muffler. Of course not using the stupied set screws, they will be removed & the tips welded on. Hopefully the installer will be able to put the muffler in factory position/location. He can do pie cut bends if a tight bend is needed (tighter then a normal mandrel bend) & I was hopeing he could work the 3" pipe over the rear subframe assembly, I know it will be tight but we'll see. Other then that probably paint or powdercoat the cannaster black & should have an exhaust that looks as stock as possible.
