Any DSM "mentors" in the central MD area ?

G'mornin all...I just recently joined the DSM community, and damn, am I lost. Is there anyone out in the central MD area that is willing to take on an apprentice of sorts ? I'm active duty, and since I just got back from Iraq, I have time on my hands to devote to learning about my car. I have a 96 TSI AWD talon that I am afraid is on it's last legs (92k miles with a crankwalk problem) and I was literally just given a 91 eclipse that I want to work on so I can have a primary driver that looks and performs well. Any help that someone could provide would be really appreciated. I am new to tuning, but I do have some experience in interior customization, so I hope that can be of some help.
