so stock fuel tank, stock fuel lines, and stock fuel rail can handle the E85 no problem?
Yep. I'm running the stock fuel tank and fuel rail, I just recently went to -6AN line from the tank to the rail and upgraded to a metal element fuel filter. You can get by with the list I posted above, the only thing that you might want to add to it is that metal element fuel filter since the E85 will eat away at the stock paper one. I ran the stock filter for 4 months and when I took it off it looked just fine...

thats awesome... well, as soon as i can find myself an EPROM ECU, i will start working on it

So I have my car out of the clutches of satan... just need to pick up the freshly machined block to put it back in. Gonna pick up a lightweight flywheel and possibly new clutch. Any suggestions?

been away from this site for a bit but saw this in my inbox and had to respond.

I honestly didn't like my light weight flywheel. There really wasn't much to gain but making it a bit harder to drive. I wouldn't recommend it but it depends on your driving style and what you plan on using the car for. Lightweight flywheels technically slow you down in the 1/4 - drag cars usually use heavier clutches actually. I remember reading on the Supra forums how pissed off people were after buying them. I for one, won't buy one again - save your money.

I wouldn't know what else to put in my DSM other than ACT (21/26) clutch wise. :thumb:

i guess its my bad then... LOL, i threw the idea to Corey, well if this goes pretty well, then maybe we could do a regular thing or something

i vote for this. i still need to get out and meet everyone. THings have been crazy and i've been off the site for a month. I can't believe i missed the meet, I live right across mission bay in crown point! :ohdamn:

Yo Corey, now you got me paranoid! So all fans on, and driving on the freeway im still right at 201-204. Can it be possible that the sensor is reading wrong? When i install the my turbo and drain the coolant im going to do like 10/90 plus add a water wetter. Still leaves me wondering though, never thought i had a over heating issue.

Thanks again for helping out with the tune, car is cruising like a champ... you the man.

I just smashed the shit out of my iphone. so ill be using the ole razor for awhile. for those of you that have my number hit me up with a text and let me know who you be

HAHAHA. 201-204* isn't "overheating" but like I said before once it gets alittle hotter the ECU will pull a degree of timing. Be sure to keep it a 50/50 mix of coolant/h2o, the antifreeze actually changes the cooling properties of the water and it dissipates the heat better and the water won't steam off as fast.

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA. Rande's falls out the window of black betty (blam-a-lam) going 65mph and gets a scratch on it, yours gets smashed? How did it happen? I'll send you a text big guy and boy have I got a funny story for you next time we talk. I wired in my IAT sensor and couldn't get my car to idle for shit... WTF I'll tell ya all about it.

haha I know i dont have Over heating issues but i dont like it being so close to that 206. I want that 196-198 mark now.

Funny you mention that 50/50 mix. A few days ago I was having this discussion with Rego. He swears by this mixture to, but i think (haha key words!) that water cools down way better than antifreeze. I know it has its drawbacks with corrosion and rust in your cooling system but as far as wanting lower temps thats the way to go. I was thinking about doing a mixture using a less anti freeze for the corrosion issue and just adding in a water wetter to help lower a little bit more. i think distilled water is supposed to be the best. I even heard sometime back that tracks here in California were going to do away with antifreeze all together because of clean up purposes when there is spills.

Its not Rigo's opinion, my opinion, or anyone elses because its science man.

The term antifreeze is a bit misleading, it should also be called antiboil too. Ethylene Glycol (antifreeze) has a boiling point of 198*C, where your water has a boiling point of just 100*C and once it starts boiling it will create air pockets in your engines coolant system. Adding antifreeze to your coolant system does infact COOL better than water, it doesn't just keep the water from freezing in cold climates. You want to keep your car cooler then get one of these bad boys. MISHIMOTO | 95-99 DSM | 143° RACING THERMOSTAT

antifreeze and water wetter both do the same thing and that is coat the inside of the block with a film to help prevent air pockets. if anything a 25 percent glycol and 75 percent water may work. you are right about the water cooling better but it will also boil off sooner. just like corey was saying the glycol helps prevent the water from boiling so soon.

and all nhra and ihra tracks suggest (meaning they will yell at you if you blow a coolant line) that you only use water in your cooling system when racing. due to how long it takes to get glycol off the track as opposed to water.

corey all i did was drop it out of my pocket trying to take a picture of my new valve cover and it landed screen down.

Yea. A few of us knew Randy, I don't think he enjoyed seeing our cars around his shop though since it meant something was really ####ed up. He fixed my car after it caught on fire and he also did my timing belt last year. I can't say I got along with the guy very well but he was the "go-to" guy at Ball and its a bit shocking to hear he passed away.

I'd love to go to RaceLegal next Friday but I'm penciled in that day to be up at RRE, Kris and I were planning on making it to Barona on the 21st maybe we'll put some car chalk on the DSM's for him.

Thanks for posting this up, we would have never known since I don't check SoCalEvo so much anymore.

Some huge suburban just smashed into my talon and took off. I filed a police report but with no license plate im screwed ### I dont have full coverage..

man thats no bueno... talk about some dirty business... hope the damage wasnt too bad, i thought most tuners carry full coverage in case something happened

yep it was a wakeup call. I just didnt think it would happen to me.
After talking to some of my friends and the guy that is going to help me fix it, all say "its not that bad." I guess seeing where the damage is I got lucky it didnt hit the door or rear wheel etc. It then would be a different story. I went to the scene the morning after and spoke with the neighbros whose driveway the SUV came out of and they all are covering their asses and lying saying they didnt hear anything and not know of a suburban that visits there. I then went knocking around the houses since the bang was pretty loud hoping somoene might have peeked out the window when it did happen and recognize the vehicle but all i got in return were some bad reviews about the house where I parked infront of. I am now thinking it was done on pupose as no one really liking the people who's house i parked infront of because of the loud and obnoxious parties along with the parking-jobs they have. At this point I am going to fix it on my own, take the loss and be more aware of where I park the stealthy beast next time. I planned on repainting the hood and front bumper anyways = /
I've been helping out some friends all yesterday prepping a GTO for paint so I can get a good deal when it comes to working on my car.

About to cough up some cash for the body work and materials later today
Here are pics of the hit

theres like 3 layers of metals behind that panel before the body panel, it does however have holes to access the panel. The person who is going to fix it said that is enough to wedge something in there and karate shop the panel back to form. I circled and arrowed the holes that give you access to the external body panels.
