All I can say is I wish I had made it lastnight. My girlfriend recently had her wisdom teeth removed, so I've been nursing her back to health... which is the reason I didn't show last night. but I'm down with SD99GST. So long as its relatively local to all those who want to meet. So I suggest posting what part of San Diego you live in and we could go from there.

dood i just got my wisdom teeth removed last Saturday too.. it totally sucked ! Impacted lower wisdom teeth.. it was hell for 20 minutes. My cheeks are still swollen. can't even eat solid foods yet ! ughhh Anyway, I'm down for a meet in Chula Vista area, not trying to get another speeding ticket

Dude.. I think she has you beat. Similar situation... 3 teeth removed: 1 upper, 2 lower impacted AND an abscess. Oral surgery... now she has 2 dry sockets and every other day she goes in to have something put in to help heal. Smells like clove cigarette tho .

Total was surprising to us at just over $650, original quote was for $1400.

hah man what dentist is this? I payed $1,700 for all four, and lower two were impacted.
I just went to the dentist today because i couldnt get one of my upper sockets to stop bleeding since last night I woke up with a bloody mouth and dripped over the sink for a while till I decided to go to the dentist. They just looked at it, put a gauze on and gave me a pack of to take home. Oh yeah dry sockets suck ! I feel for your GF.. immense pain

I vote instead of a meet we do a cruise... Say to Palomar Mtn or Julian? I would even go as far to say El Centro... (been meaning to go to Sonic anyways). Of course it would have to be a weekend.

Guess what guys, do you remember me driving the green 2g AWD to qualcom about two weeks ago? Well i finally sold it yesterday, wednesday, and towed it right back today at 12 am today Thursday. The long story short, guy who bought it drove it home and didn't even make it there.. so i felt sorry for the kid and gave him his money back since he mentioned selling him a car with a blown head gasket?

The story goes; guy comes test drive my 2g awd talon, likes it, pays $2,900 cash, pink slip is signed over and leaves with it.. everyone is happy
Then an hour and a half to two hours later he calls sounding really pissed asking if i knew about the blown head gasket
I mentioned there is no blown head gasket, he says yes there is... I say no there isn't and remind him that he test drove it before making the purchase to ensure that there wasn't anything wrong with the car. He says it was concealed and that I knew the head gasket was blown
At this point i am in loss of words..
The talon has been very reliable and never had let me down in the 4 years of ownership and now this guy is saying i sold him a piece of junk..
So the awesomely nice guy that I am I drive 50 + miles to where the car is sitting at an empty parking lot a few hours ago and when I get there he is simply asking for his money back
Again I am at a loss of words and begin by mentioning how he test drove it earlier .. then he mentions "yeah but I didnt even get to my house" which could be true. So I take his view and understand how someone that buys a car and breaks down before they get home would be really unfair. On the flip side, my car has never ever broke down on me at all!! and now i see it in a parking lot 50 miles away from my house broken down with no coolant and little to no oil on the engine and a huge oil spill beneath it.
I ended up being the nicest, probably the most irrational guy on earth and giving him his full money back and having my friend trailer the car back 50 miles to my place. I live by this thing where I TREAT OTHERS AS I WOULD LIKE TO BE TREATED. Eventhough I have proof, neighbors, friends, strangers everyone, even members here in this thread saw how reliable that car was!.. daily driven! anyway I did not want to argue or have trouble with the kid since I know how stupid kids can be and go to the extent of violence so I did what I had to do in order not to have any of that kind of stuff. Tomorrow awaits the unraveling of what went wrong. The cams move when you crank, seems like it has no compression, will do a compression test and I am hoping it is just the timing belt that skipped or simply a head gasket. Maybe a week to fix it before it goes back for sale. If you were in my shoes, What would you have done So Cal?

I would've made sure everything worked right, there were no leaks, and checked condition of all seals before I thought about posting it for sale... unlike my mustang, I'd do this to every vehicle I sell.

Have you tried AAMCO? There's one on Convoy in Kearny Mesa. They'll diagnose anything and give you a free quote. Hassle free too.

I heard ammco is bad for dsm transmissions, have you tried them before?

Not personally as I haven't had to yet. I was just throwing it out there. What about a dealer?

Edit - Though my dad has taken his Jeep (1994 Cherokee w/ 4 cyl Mitsu motor and 5spd) there before for a transmission rebuild and clutch job.

Yeah I sold the car in perfect running condition, no leaks what so ever. I know better and do not run away from problems, I run towards them . After inspection today I found that the water pump failed and leaks the coolant as most water pumps do through the "emergency" leak plug. It definately failed on them which was simply bad luck now replacing the head gasket and water pump should be fun

I bought it like that last week for 1500 with a rebuilt engine so putting another $1000 shouldn't be bad

If it does that in all gears it could be anything from a bad clutch disc that is in pieces or a loose flywheel that wasn't bolted on properly. If it does do that for only a couple of gears then I would suggest to begin looking for another transmission locally. Either way the transmission needs to be removed so hope that your problem lays in sight as you look at the clutch and flywheel when you drop the transmission.

Yeah man that sounds like a bad transmission and not the clutch of flywheel problems. Start shopping around for a transmission!

Already have, you have a dsm do you know any good places in san diego that are good with dsm's? or should all mechanics know what to do if i give them the parts?

I wouldn't trust any mechanic with a DSM. I always take my dsm to a friend that has worked on them for years. As far as dsm knowledge, tools and worth ethic he is a Legend plus he doesn't charge as much as shops do. PM me if you want me to ask him something or if you want his contact info

Burning oil at idle, think Im getting oil through piston three, compression reads low by like 40. Drives me crazy every time Im in traffic and I get a cloud of smoke coming out...

Well, I'm taking mine to the shop, it wont go past 4500 at wot(whats wot?). It jumps from 1500-2000 rpm. 1st gear isn't working properly, and not but not least I have no idea if my oil pressure gauge is connected because it reads nothing.
