The last time we met at fry's it was BORING. Let's try and meet somewhere that we can go and driver cars around or do something fun? Not the hanging out in a parking lot with all you isn't much fun, it just gets boring after about 10 minutes. I would like to see everybody and say hi to everybody again.

That is a good point, theres only so much fun you can have just standing there

Well you better bring a book to read at MOD, in between the dyno pulls there isn't much to do besides talk cars. :coy: After you've walked down one row of Evo's they all look the same...

:dsm:

Lol and a beer

But yeah man I would suggest we all go to K1 and make our own lil grand prix but I'm not sure if everyone has the money for K1 though. What do y'all think?

did the conversion to e-85 today. All i have to say is i ####ing love this fuel.

i used to knock at 15 deg of timing at 17 psi. even at 9.5:1 or 10.5:1

now at 10.5:1 and 22 degree's of timing zero knock...

under boost the car feels like a whole new car.

so far my settings are as such with 1200 cc injectors, 2g fpr and walbro fpr

-45.7% global
450 uSec dead time

these values sound reasonable however

after 30 miles my fuel trims look like this:

LTFT high 7.2%
LTFT mid 0.8%
LTFT lo 7.8%

LOL ballsy 22 degrees of timing. This is what has me baffled right now. Tuners I have spoken with don't like venturing beyond 18 degrees of timing by redline. So far I have been doing some tuning sessions of my own. 40 lb/min 18 degrees of timing by redline. 11.2-11.3 AFRs 86% max duty on 1000cc inj around 6k rpm. The timing bump makes the fuel glorious. My intention was to bump up timing to around 21* once I got to the desired airflow (48 lb/min) but again after speaking with tuners I get advice to hold back on that. Everyone on link forums goes into the 20s with e85 but idk about the risk of spitting out rod bolts again.

imo if it doesnt knock and its still pulling then it shouldnt matter.

e-85 burns slower than gasoline so the added timing doesnt have Quite as much effect as with gasoline.

iether way it doesnt knock so bring it!

Damn you Bryan I want link now, oh well it should be my Xmas present this year so that should be fine

Taken directly from the ecmlink users guide.

1. Car must be fully warmed up then must be operated at cruise for about 10 minutes
followed by idle for 5 minutes to get stable LTFT values.
2. Compare the LTFT at idle and cruise. You want both to be right about zero (+/-
5% or so).
3. If the two are about the same, dead time setting is good.
4. If they are equal but non-zero, adjust the global setting.
5. If idle LTFT is more positive than cruise LTFT, increase the dead time, less,
decrease.

So, make a slight increase in dead time and a reasonable adjustment in your global to get the fuel trims as close to zero.

On a side note I believe I have figured out my smoking issue. head is coming back off due to my 1150cc injector being stuck open and filling the cylinder with fuel.

who knows what happens when a cylinder fills with fluid?

Cory I'm not much of a reader, and Mike I don't drink. But I will be ok I was just saying I know we can find something fun to do when we have our little get together!

yes sir good thing I have 3 more on my shelf. People say I am crazy for hoarding parts.

I change head gaskets like I change my underwear... every time I blow my gasket.

No kidding, that and your always blowing something.....ROFL, anyways, i wouldnt say you are a hoarder, but you could build an entire robot army out of valve springs and engine internals that are in your garage

your the one that was blowing... after that hook up of a head gasket replacement.

And if your not careful Im sure I could arrange for some blowing of that new suspension setup

sounds like a salty deal to me LOL.

So far so good on e85 85 miles to a 1/4 tank

Hey whats up fellas? Hows the DSM community down in SD holding up?

Corey by far I think the best one of your ideas is that valve cover... freaking sweet.:thumb:

Bastards all going to MOD, i would really like to make it up but will probably be impossible.

Dude I thought yoy didint wear underwear because your always sporting that sweet plumbers crack

LOL good ole Kris man haha

Why impossible? theres still plenty of time for planning

Hey now Kris, something made me really fricken sick at your place... as far as the head gasket / everything else you helped me with, i owe you for that....

Ed, im not gonna blow, But, id be happy to pick you up some Arbys the next time we meet... sandwiches for sandwiches is a lot more reasonable... maybe i will get you lunch when we all go up to MOD

Kris, leave my suspension out of this... my current is going bad, so i needed a replacement... now i just have to look up how to access the rear since its different then the hard top

corey, well to be fair the 22 degree's was at 6000 rpm, with all sliders zeroed out ( fuel and timing )

essentially running stock timing for a 1g along with stock fuel numbers, just... minus 44% duty cycle.

Have you got any suggestions for working with forcing a slightly leaner than stoich at cruise?

reducing timing wouldnt help i dont think... advancing might but im unsure of how these ecu's add or remove fuel if its flat based on 1.0 lambda or if its based on load also

As in unbolting the struts from the body?

Not too bad...our tops have some flaps on the inside held on by a couple snap-on type buttons (not sure what to call them). Move those out of the way and you'll see the rubber cap and bolts holding the struts :thumb:

well that sounds easier then i thought... i was initially dreading having to deal with the top and such
