Any benefit/anyone else using 1g cas like this?

So awhile back I came under the impression that a 1g cas would be superior to my 2gb CAS/CPS setup. My idea was simple: make the system run off only one elec timing device(the CAS) and not both the cas and cps. What should i do? I have a black top 1g and a magnus harness. Im still a ways out from starting my build.
If there is no benefit to doing this then i will put it up in the classifieds and stick to my current, normal 2gb setup.

This seems to be an obvious mod for a 6 bolt swap in a 2g but i thought hey, why not just elimate the crank sensor if i can.

The only benefit (for you) would be being able to adjust your base timing. More info can be found here:

Most others do it during a 6-bolt swap to avoid machine work and other annoyances.
 
If you are still running a 7 bolt block and head than this is a downgrade. Keep the 2g sensors if you can use them. You will very likely have misfire problems with the 1g cas. The reason that people use the 1g cas with 6 bolt swaps is because the 6 bolt block does not have a spot on the oil pump to bolt the crank sensor to, or a spot on the head to mount the 95-96 sensor to.
 
Thank you both. This is what i was suspecting. Ill stick with what i have and try to recoup my losses and sell the magnus 2gb/1g cas cable/1g black top when i get around to it.
