Well, it's past time for a new clutch for me and I want something that'll stand up to some power but still be a bearable DD. I'm not a drag racer, there won't be any 5K clutch dumps for this car. Ever. I just need something that'll hold the torque of an Evo16G. That's the biggest turbo that'll ever be on this car. Would a 2100 fit the bill for a RR/Auto-x car?

I love my 2100, been holding strong for 2 years now, love the pedal pressure. Held 20psi on my L2R and 50-trim.

this thread came up in perfect time. Driving last night, steped on it in first to get out into traffic, car was moving, and RPM shot through the roof, i was like DAMN IT.
Just glad i know what a slipping clutch feels like, so im not flipping LOL

Would a 2100 fit the bill

thats what i asked buschur about a week ago.. and they said that i wouldn't need a 2600 for daily driver... I also asked about an aftermarket flywheel and they told me that it would be unecessary for my car..

I've had my 2100 for a year now and I love it. The pedal pressure is just fine for everyday driving and even some "spirited" driving on occasion.

I've been running a 2100 for about 6 months now and love it. The pedal pressure is perfectly acceptable for daily driving and the occasional stoplight drag. I haven't been to the track yet on this clutch since I've been fighting other problems. I have done quite a few launches on the street and it has never slipped or failed to hold even on 5k launches. I assume it will not last quite as long under these conditions but it shows no signs of giving up now. When it goes out I'll probably switch to a 2600 though, switching to a 50 trim soon hopefully.

Ill be getting a 2100 here eventually. My question is will i need the fly wheel as well. My overall goal is 350WHP, but thats like 2 years away, im sitting at about 250HP right now(not WHP) Will see soem track time but mostly a daily drivier. Think i should get the flywheel as well???

Thanks

Thanks guys, that's exactly what I was hoping to hear. :thumb: You always hear the mantra "2100 for FWD, 2600 for AWD", but that seems to pertain more to drag than what I'll use the car for. Thanks again!

Great thread... I do lots of spirited driving in my dsm, and my goal in the next year or so is 360 whp (using a 50trim or similar...) I also go to the track... does this sound more like a 2600 or 2100 type of setup?

50 trim is the common name for a Garrett or Mitsu/Garrett hybrid utilizing the Garrett 50 trim compressor wheel. It is considered by most to be the most efficient pump gas/daily driver wheel for small displacement motors. It can be found in a number of different housings and coupled with many turbine housings and wheels as well. There are many, many variations of turbo that are referred to as "50 trim" but can be miles apart in other areas.
