Yesterday I removed my back seat, removed the belt buckle part and there was a module screwed into the bracket and I unplugged the harness going to it (coming out of the part where the bottom of the seat was). I also removed the carpet in the hatch and the fiberboard around the spare tire. That is all I did yesterday.

Well today, while I was driving, the Anti-Lock light came on. When I turn the car off and back on, the light will stay off. When I start driving, maybe 20 seconds later the light comes on.

There is no problems with braking...no shimmy, grinding, locked calipers, etc. It seems like its one thing after another with this car. Does anyone know where to start?

Any reason for unplugging something when you don't know what it does? Have you tried plugging it back in?

Well I was removing the seats and the buckle part. The harness was plugged into a small black box on the bracket for the buckles. I don't see why that would have anything to do with the ABS but who knows. The reason I unplugged it was because I was removing the bracket/buckle.

I couldn't get the module off of the bracket because one of the screws wasn't easily accessible to remove it from the bracket itself. Ill see if I can't get it off and plug the module back in and see what happens.

I still can't fathom what it would have to do with the ABS or why it would be under the back seat.

Edit:
Here are pictures of the module. Look in the middle of the bracket, there's a black box bolted to it.

Edit AGAIN: I was able to remove the module with an offset screwdriver. What do you know...it says "DO NOT DROP. NIPPON ABS" on it. What the hell is that module doing under the seatbelt buckles???

Yea I plugged it back in and just left it laying there and the ABS light hasn't come back on.

It does have the part number MB534699 just like the link that was posted. Good call.

I'd at least tape it down. Maybe some of that double stick foam. Try to orient it the same way it came out. A lot of accelerometers are directionally sensitive.

Hmmm, I can try and use an L bracket and adhere it to that. What is its purpose? What does it do?

I'm not sure which direction that one measures and I'm not sure of the logic programmed into the ABS.

This is just a guess, but it might be to see how hard you're turning.

Hmmm....well its not sitting in the same location it was and there's no way to mount it back without putting the seatbelt buckles back in. But I can probably rip something so that it sits in the same direction as it was....

Actually, does it matter if it isn't fully level? I could just stick it to the flattest part I can find but in the same direction it was in....that might work. I don't see any point in this module. Car was running fine without it in. And even with it just laying there, its not throwing a CEL or ABS light or anything.

Well, if you're going to use you're ABS then I'd try to find a way to mount it. It must have some reason to exist.

If you're not going to use the ABS then just pull the fuse and be done with it.

The only time I needed my ABS was when it was snowing and there was ice on the ground. It saved me from slamming into someone. I think ill keep it though...it can come in handy, as it already has.
