Alright, I'm still a little hazy when it comes to wiring the electrical boost and oil pressure non-peak/warn gauges in my '91 TSI with the anti-theft system. The way that Prosport wrote the wiring directions is a little poor. Are the RED wire a constant +12V and the WHITE wire a switchable (accessory) 12V? If that is the case, I'm having trouble finding a constant +12V source (other than the battery) and an accessory circuit that won't cut out during cranking, short of splicing into the ignition wiring - which I personally don't like the thought of doing.

I"ve measured the usual cigarette and radio circuits, but they both drop voltage while cranking, not making them ideal canidates. Does anyone recommed another circuit to tap into?

As for the ORANGE gauge wire, this connects to the headlight wires, but I would like the gauges from white to orange when the parking lights are on as well, will the gauges do this if I tap into the headlight wires or do I have to tap into the parking light wires in order to achieve this? The FSM shows both of these circuits in different diagrams, so I'm assuming that they are on different circuits. Added to this, the anti-theft system adds to the complexity.

If someone can clarify some of this, I would greatly appreciate it.

You are correct about the orange wire.Tap into any acc wire...so its only orange when the lights arr on or your parking lights are on.As for the white that needs a 12v constant.I don't know why it matters if it loses a little juice while cranking.Just tap into the fuse box if you don't want to go in the ignition.

I have these also, Lovem.. Anyway constant power just tap in to the cigerette lighter.

Thanks for replying. I've been putting this off for a few weeks until I got some feedback on this. Whenever I do electrical work, I ALWAYS want to do it right the first time.

What about the red wire? Does this connect to the white wire and share the same constant +12V source or is it hooked to an accessory circuit?
