another what is this part called thread

Thanks in advance for help. No idea what these are called.

First item came off the intake manifold, has something to do with the vacuum system.

first one is the egr. the second part has the name on it.

As for the second part, so what does it do?

The 2nd is the transitor pack, and its the #1 reason for ignition failure.

The second one is your power transistor/ignitor.

It helps control your coil pack and it sends the tach signal to your ECU/gauge cluster.

Ok time for a thread hijack.

I did a 6 bolt swap and i left my power transistor jus dangling by the intake manifold. Does it need a ground or something? Basically, should it be bolted down or am i ok?
