I am trying to help my son fix his car. It is a 95 talon TSi FWD 5 speed. The car vibrates or shakes during acceleration. It seems to get worse the longer the car is driven but you always notice it. I have changed cv axles, tie rod ends, and wheel bearings. We also switched out wheels and tires with no luck. You can always feel a slight virbation but it gets real bad once you get up to highway speeds. Once you let of the gas and push in the clutch it goes away. I was reading some of the other posts and someone mentioned it could be the clutch? The car runs perfect and doesn't make any goofy noises (unless you count all the rattles) and doesn't leak anything. To me it feels like it is coming from the front end but you cannot feel it in the steering wheel. If you guys have any ideas please let me know because he would like to have his car back asap.

Well I would say that it would be tie rod ends or wheel bearings, but you already replaced those. The only other thing I think it could be would be the lower control arms or the transmission itself. You could try replacing the clutch, but I don't think that's it. Did you guys replace that stuff on just the front end or all the way around?

What type of vibrations exactly if it's sometimes violent it may be a vacuum house unplugged or cracked. Those you feel all the time as u stated.
The motor mounts could be a cause too, but if so u should not notice it while the car is on idle

Mrbill- just the front end. I was going to look at the rear end today and make sure everything is tight.

DSMIkE- I will check the mounts this afternoon. Thanks

Jerzee- Only way I can explain the vibration is like a bad out of balance wheel but I know for a fact it is not that. I do not notice any vibration at idle just while driving and under load.

Moparmcneer- Yes the vibration goes away when the clutch is pushed in but then again if the clutch is in then you cannot be accelerating.

Gravityforce- Thanks I will check out the mounts this afternoon.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. Hopefully I can get this thing wrapped up in the next day or two.
