I posted back in October of last year about my setup and what I had planned for it. I got some great feedback and advice from a lot of members of which I greatly appreciate. :thumb: However, a few things have now changed. I've made my mind up on some things and decided against others. So with that being said, I was hoping to get another round of feedback from you guys concerning my new setup. I'm open to suggestions and constructive critisism.

On a side note, I hope this doesn't upset anybody that I made an entirely new thread. I felt that because some things had changed that a fresh thread with fresh opinions would be beneficial. If any mods disagree please feel free to remove this thread and I will repost in my old one, as I am not trying to break any rules. Thanks in advance.

Manifold: Stick with a stock2g or if you HAVE to upgrade, go with a EVO3. Get your wastegate mounted on your o2 housing. use the money you would have spent on the manifold for a good O2 housing... Too many people leave that out and it has a LARGE effect on spool and powerband.

Well, the whole reason for me getting an SBR manifold was so I could cleanly mount an external wg and rerout it into the dp or O2. I've read numerous times about people having problems with a wg mounted off the O2, even after porting the hell out of the passage. Seems that it is simply b/c the angle out of the O2 passage is too steap to relieve excess pressure at high boost levels. I am also struggling to figure out how I am going to go about rerouting from the manifold, and where I should reroute to. I searched but have had trouble finding out how people are doing this. Seems like most are dumping, which I don't want to do. Any help is appreciated.

Go with something like the Victory perforamnce O2 housing.

Clicky

You will gain more perforamance with a better o2 housing versus a slowboy manifold. you can also do two options, either buy the VP o2 housing as a dumptube, then pay someone and do a v-band setup back into the downpipe, or just pay VP the extra to make the external go back into the o2 housing.

If it was ME, I'd do a v-band clamp back into my downpipe.

Your concern about boost creep is typically more of a lack of porting in RIGHT areas. plus with the 38 or 40mm external, you shouldn't have to worry about it.

Thanks for the info! I may just go this route. Seems much simpler and more cost efficient. Do you know if VP will port the reroute for me? What's the benefit of going with a V-Band? (I dunno what that is, I'll have to do some searching)

I'm not sure if you've already found this out, but I just read the rep post you sent me and figured I'd answer for anyone else looking into this as well.

A V-band is flange. Basically you have 2 "flanges" one on the dump tube and one on a little tube coming out of the downpipe. They allow you to quickly disconnect the pipe as it is only 1 bolt holding them together. They don't leak, and are a much cleaner/easier way of doing things.

If you go to forced performances website, you'll see that their best line of turbos, the FP3052/3065 use a V-Band flange on the turbine housing of the turbo, both for the exhaust and the wastegate.

you could mess with an actual 2 bolt flange and gasket, but you'd have a harder time making sure it forms a good seal.

The problem with V-bands is that they are expensive.
