Hi gang,

The clutch was fine until last week, when I noticed that the clutch wasn't quite letting go like it should. Then on saturday I turned the car on and couldn't get it into gear. The cluch won't disengage. I can't get it into gear if the motor is running.

Clutch sytem specs:
new master cyl; ~1yr old; installed some time before the new clutch
ACT 2600 ~1yr old (~9k miles on it now)
ACT Flywheel ~1yr old; installed with the new pp and disc (done at PINA Motorsports). I don't remember if the fork and ball were replaced, but the TO bearing was for sure
new slave cyl; ~4mos old (done myself)
ss line ; ~4 mos old (done myself)

Here's what I've done so far to try and fix this problem (in this order):
Re-Adjusted the master cylinder rod (per Jack's instructions)
Re-bled the system
Checked fork placement; it sits about halfway between the center line and the driver side limit; picture from RRE for reference

Pedal pressure is as expected.
I'm thinking I either need to replace the fork or get an extension for the slave cylinder. During the bleeding process, I noticed the fork travel just slightly past the centerline of the reference picture when the clutch was in all the way.

Your thoughts? I'm going to send the car to the shop if the solution requires more work than a new extension rod for the slave.

any leak from master inside the car. you will have to get under the dash to see. just something to check.

Adjust the clutch for more throw, even if it gives you pedal pump up, just to see if you can even get proper disengagement. Otherwise, assuming a properly bled system, it kind of sounds like a TOB issue?

When my clutch ate the big one I asked the shop who handled it what the problem actually was and if I could have all the old parts. They told me my pp obliterated itself. After checking all the parts, apart from being worn, everything was fine. I didn't get my TOB back.

Does it make any sounds when you push in the clutch? or while its running?

Sounds exactly what happened to me. Except in my case, I drove the car to work, went to leave work for the day, and couldn't get it into gear. After running hydraulic troubleshooting in the parking lot I had to get it towed. I assumed the TOB fried, but after pulling the transmission I was greeted with a broken PP tooth. :(

When pushing in the clutch slowly mine would start to make a rubbing/slipping noise like when you hold your finger gently on a fan. It would make that "Shhk shhk shhk shhk..." sound, like the disc was grazing the plate.

Any funny noises going on that you don't remember being there?

Mine was an ACT 2100 Sprung Street disc kit paired to an ACT flywheel too.

Nope, no noises as far as I can hear. Also I can't get it to pump up. I adjusted the master cylinder to push in as far as possible before trying. I don't know how long or how many times I really need to sit there and try to get it to happen, but I sat in the car for about 5 minutes pumping the clutch over and over. Long enough for me to get bored/tired of pumping the clutch anyway.

I don't know if it is worth mentioning, but pressing the clutch down to the floor causes the fork to travel from its resting position that I described above to the center line.
