ok everybody....please dont get mad at me or anything:
with my home made boost controler...i will hit like 13lbs at WOT...then it always drops to about 8...then stays at about 9.5....im still on stock exhaust...but i recently got a new job...so i hope things change soon...but my question is...is stock exhaust too restrictive? too much back-press? i would like to have it staying at 13 or so...what do i need to do?
thanks alot

It is restrictive, but (keep in mind I am in a 2G) I ran 19psi steady up until I upgraded. I would get it replaced when you have the money. Sounds like you could have some sort of leak in a line somewhere. Like a hole that opens with a certian amount of psi. Do the IC pressure test. It is here....

Good luck and have fun.

k...will do...also, one other thing....it seems like, (if im being stupid and i take off the hose going to the wastgate) that it will hold fine...although i never pushed it hard like that, but with my mbc...it hits and falls REAL quick.

You may have boost leaks so like it has already been said check for those. Also but a decent BC. They are 50 bucks for the Joe P maybe less. That will hold boost just fine and it wont fall off like yours is. It is the smallest investment and gives great returns. Home made BC tend to do exactly what yours is doing becasue they are a bleeder valve.

ok....havent made a leak tester yet...ive been working...but i got off early today and came home and was mesing with my problem.....so anyway, i took my mbc and re-assembled it...and it is a ball/spring type...(is that the same as a bleeder vavle?)...and it was doing the same thing again...even with it turned up almost all the way....so i took off the hose going to the wastgate...and ran it...i made sure i didnt go over 15 psi while i was testing...but this way it help steady JUST FINE....so im wondering....are my hoses that im using with my mbc too small? would that affect it? ive been re-using some of the old hoses from the stock set-up....i dont know....also...i was looking for a joe p on ebay and couldnt find it...any help with that?

well...ive been thinking about this thing....since im getting too little boost with my mbc...but just fine withouth it on....that means its flowing tooo much right?...so those hoses are fine...and it is the mbc?

ok....i FINALLY got to it...(i have the day off today...)anyway...YES... its like leak town USA over here....well..not really...but i do have one...and its not from a hose....
a while back when i had my intercooler out so i could clean it...i noticed that the pipe coming off the top of the intercooler had a hole in it...about the size of a quarter....but it looked like there was some kind of repair done to it...and there was still a little bit of a whole though...anyway...even though the UI hose goes over it...i think that the clamp goes above it...so though there is hose over it...its leaking there...well...what should i do? i think if i unbolted the intercooler and took the clamp...then put it on the underside of the car...then put the hose on it...i may be able to get the clamp below it....does that sound like a good idea? or do i have a bigger prob....i dont really feel like doing this...but i guess i need to...
thanks for any furthur input.

well...i went and put a different clamp at the bottom of the hose on the intercooler so i didnt have to take anything apart...well...it still leaked...but not bad...just really slow...not like before...but i just drove it...and its acting the exact same...up high..then down to 9 lbs...i hate it...what do i need to do? please help.

You just need to get a new sidemount. They are cheap (have one fi you want it for 40.00 plus shipping) and it will just bolt in. You mat be able to have someone weld that hole shut but, it may leak if they dont weld it very well and it may cost more time and money than to just buy one used.

well...i was working on the prob some more...and got it to just leak a bit...and when i took it out for a test...it almost looked like it would work...since it shot up higher than normal...too high...so i re-adjusted to mbc...then it was like before....so yeah...i guess i need a new one...since i had the clamp as TIGHT as it would go......you know how much shiping would be? is it in good condition? is it clean?
thanks again.

Yeah its in good condition and clean. I will run some carb cleaner through it cause it has been sitting for a bit. I can find out how much shipping is just let me know you zipcode.
