I bought another 2GNT in september a 1996 base model, not looking for horsepower just needed a beater car to get to-from work and to stop putting mileage on my ES350.

Normally I have the DSM in a car port so it doesn't normally see rain and it was garaged by previous owner (He bought it in Feb and bought it in sept). He never drove it in the rain and there was no staining on the interior to show a leak. I always normally take my sedan when its raining because its more reliable . The other night I was out by the time I got back every one else in the family was under in the car port so I street parked, long story short got in the car and I was flooded.

Pulled the headliner today and there are absolutely no drain hoses for the sunroof... I checked by the fender to see if there was an outlet hose for water there there wasn't, short of never driving in the rain. I've searched google and on here but I cant find a solid answer for this question,

Did the base model come with a sunroof?
and is there a solid source for the proper drain hosing or easier to just do a silicone hose rigging?

TIA

Hey Dude!!! I suggest you to check your sunroof weatherstrip, most of the time is this.

Open your sunroof look for the drainage holes along the weatherstrip and also open your hatch you should have drainage holes back there too.

I have 1998rs base with sunroof, my hatch drain holes was clogged. At the time was replacing a rear bumper, took a tiny flathead screwdriver for my eye glasses to unclogged them had years of dirt build up.

Already know the issue is a lack of hoses, just trying to source OEM hoses as silicone matching is a pita.

Whats going on. If u got the headliner down thier should be rubber hoses on each corner of the sunroof asembly. If not chance is that its a aftermarket sunroof. The aftermarket sunroofs back in the day used that gasket to seal the car witch is crap. Factory made one have a catch to keep the water from making into the cabin of the car then routes it out the drains. So if u want to drive the rain thier is 2 options seal the existing roof with a clear silicone, or replace the roof with either a solid roof or a factory sunroof assembly. Or 3 dont get the car wet. I had the same problem so when its time i will be replacing my roof with a factory sunroof asembly. Before u go and grab a factory sunroof to put in ## car u will need the roof it self. If u need picks I can post them since I have not put mine in yet.

The hoses are not present at all. It operates the same as the OEM Sunroof I had in my last 2GNT so (no idea if its aftermarket or not would just rather keep the lex in the carport as long as I have a beater) I am trying to see if there are OEM Hose kits available because my stealer-ship guy is being a ****head and google has failed me smh.

Well mine was a power sunroof. Thr easy way to tell if its factory or aftermarket.

1 with a aftermarket sunroof they will cut the roof. In doing this it weakens the metal so they put a retaining braket into the hole cut this bracket supports the roof and the sunroof assembly it also has the gasket on it for sealing. On a factory unit the asembly is bolted to the side roof rails and the gasket is mounted to the glass.
