Aluminum Door Panels... How To?

You could always weld a few short studs in where the plastic clips are now with some little M8 nuts to hold it on. Then just cut the studs flush. That'd add some stiffness to it, keep it easy to remove, and hold it a lot stronger than the little plastic clips.

I think Shep has OE door panels LOL.

He used to though.

To the OP, with a little more finishing those door panels you have will look pretty good IMO.

It does not look near as bad as I imagined, I actually think it would look cool if you had them color matched to the car or to the interior of the car instead of just the aluminum finish. But none the less, a cool idea.

I think they look good, though I would bolt them on... probably put some rubber coping around the cut edges. This is now something I am considering myself as an option for replacing the OEM door panels. I have yet to find any in any better condition than the one's I have in now, and they aren't in the greatest of shape. They look ok, but they are falling apart on the backside... That door panel looks good and damn sure would be a LOT more durable than the stock ones.

thanks spyder fx... the reason that they aren't mint on the face of them is because when they shipped me the sheet of aluminum they just threw it on the flatbed and put a strap on it and it got all market up.

I think they look pretty good concidering i made them %100 in my own back yard no stands or tables or anything haha.

also if anyone here is thinking "whats he going to use to make the windows go up and down" i bought some 3 way switches last night, brought them home and realized that they would not reverse the polarity to make the windows go up and down so today at work (transportation industry) i found some window switches from a sterling truck that should work... I even found the connectors and the wiring diagram at work

I'm not sure if any of you were wondering how I was going to make the windows go up and down after I did this mod but I will be using some window switches that i found at work... there meant to be used on a sterling truck... happened to have the wiring diagram and everything at work

the 3 black wires on the switch were ground, the red power and the 2 white with orange stripes i hooked into the stock plug for the wiper motor.

I thought originally that any old 3 way switch from TSC would work but they dont because you need something that can reverse the polarity to make the windows go up and down

ANYWAYS

there not fully installed yet (havent cut the panels for them) but here is what they look like after cutting them into a harness that will work
