When i was looking at new exhaust systems for my 91 gsx, i noticed a price difference between aluminizied and stainless steel. Whats the diffference, and which is better. I definitely like the aluminized price but if stainless is better id like to know.

Thanks

so much info, plus those link listed in the link above, is a google search "aluminum vs stainless steel"

"Aluminized" refers to the aluminum-silicon coating over the surface of the steel. The process can be done to any base steel, but typically, most steels that are aluminized are low-grade and corrosion-prone steels.

I prefer regular stainless steel because it's corrosion resistant, looks nice, and is weldable. Though, aluminuzed steel does a better job of reflecting heat. Truthfully, either one would be fine for a bolt-on exhaust system.
