Alternator Question

I need to get a new alternator. My question is can i use a non-turbo alternator on my turbo car? I was wondering because the non-turbo put out 90 amps insted of the 70 and that would be a nice upgrade. However if the bolt and all the other thing don't line up and its a huge production it isn't worth it. I have been trying to search but haven't found a definate answer. Also has anyone ever done this before. Also if you have done has there been any problems? Thanks for the help guys i really appreicate it.

The bolts and brackets from a N/T 4G63 should line up. Like something off of a first gen. All of my bolts and brackets came off a N/T car onto my TSi. The only thing that makes a huge difference is manual or automatic because some of the bolts have different lengths I believe. Hope this has been some help.

A 2g NT alt has different wiring, no internal voltage regulator, and different connector than a 2g T one. Connects differently to ECU also.
