Vancouver,
I've seen this happen a month ago. My lights go dim, the srs light comes on and the radio turns off. It would do that a couple of times then be fine afterwards. Tonite it did the same thing but the revs were fluctuating from 0 - 2000. I needed a jump start to get her going again, but the problem's still there. Could it be the alternator or something else?

It sounds like it could be the alternator if the battery does not get charged and forces you to jump it. Throw a volt-meter on it, check to see how your reading. If you dont have one, turn on your car, disconnect the battery and see if everything starts dimming like crazy again. Your alternator should be giving out enough juice to sustain everything fine.... I always hate electrical problems, feels like Im trying to work on my car blind folded.

Sounds like it could be the alternator, but I had a buddy who's battery posts were so corroded on his DSM he had the same problem. We took some sand paper to the terminals and the posts to clean them up, and he had no more problems. Check the cheap stuff first, and hopefully it fixes it. When his was doing it, we were getting poor readings from the multimeter...

I changed the fuse and went out and bought a battery charger and a multimeter, charged the battery over night and tested it the next morning. The battery reads aprox 12.7 and with car on idle it reads up to 15.5V. Does it mean my alternator is done?
