Ok so recently did a timing belt job on my 1992 fwd TSi 5 speed it was sucessful. Now i was having an issue where when i turned my wheel in my car my power steering got tight an the bird cage symbol came up an it seemed like the car wanted to shut off. Now i replaced the alternator this year brand new. So the other day i was driving i was getting an idle surge an it seemed like the car wanted to shut off, seemed like an alternator issue. After i parked it, it didnt wanna start keep it mind it ran fine for two days after the timing belt job. So once i parked it i had a friend come jump start me an we looked at it an the powersteering belt was slipping so i cut it off an figured well i can make it home because it seemed like maybe the power steering was over loading the alternator. So i drove the car home no belt an powersteering an it seemed ok it was havin a little issue at low idle an when i turned an pulled into my drive way the car died. So i charged the battery it starts. I waited a day went outside the car seems to be holding charge an fired up. the alternator belt seemed like it was squeaking at idle yesterday it did start raining when i was working on the car so i figured maybe it got wet. I went outside today and the car fired up no squeak. the alternator belt maybe be a little loose i know the alternator bracket is broke at the end where the screw threads into but it is deffinetly tight. But when i give it a little gas at idle it doesnt seem like the throttle response is on. Could that just be because its runnin rich my aem wideband seems broke and stays at 14.8. Am i loosing some power due to my alternator belt/pulley/alternator itself maybe or is it just due to runnin to rich?
