Alot of smoke from exhaust

Yesterday i went to see a 92 awd gsx it was boostin fine and really pullin jus lot of smoke comin out the exhaust when he stepped on it and when he first started it it wasnt really smokin he said if it was pistons rings it would smoke all the time but it doesnt he also said he got the head rebuilt and put a new head gastet so im thinkin

Piston rings?
Turbo?
Headgasket ?
Bent valves?

Do a compression test. Then you will know if your rings are bad or worn, as well as the headgasket and bent valves.

When the head was rebuilt did he replace the valve stem seals?
What color smoke was coming from the car?
Blue-ish usually means burning oil
White-ish usually means burning coolant

let us know results then go from there

Pull off the intake pipe and try to wiggle the compressor wheel with your fingers. How much does it move in and out, side to side, up and down? Pull off the lower intercooler pipe? Is there a pool of oil in it? (Careful of your shoes when you do this.) There shouldn't be any notieceable shaft play in the turbo. For some reason, when the seals in turbos fail and leak oil, the smoke is whitish-gray from the exhaust, so if that's the color of smoke you're dealing with, a quick turbo check can rule out or pinpoint that as a problem.

but if it is the turbo you think alot of smoke will be comin out the way it is

yea my car starting smoking from the exhaust today, it's white smoke, so yea i'm guessing coolant...however mine's a non-turbo, so does that narrow my problem to the headgasket?

i had a rebuild about 1.5k ago, so anything weird should have burn off right? i dunno

The guy said he jus put a new metal gasket in there im really tryin to get back into dsms caz right now i got another civic so all of yall opinos are helpful but say if it was the piston rings would smoke be comin out the exhaust all the time or on and off? caz the drive and boost fine jus smokin like crazy

if ti helps mine does when i sit still but its because my turbo seals are going bad so its leaking oil in itself one way to check it is take your piping apart at the blow off valve and rub your finger in the inside of the pipe if its oily its coming from your turbo

So u sayin its the turbo and not the piston rings or the headgasket

The moderators have been pretty easy on all of you lately, but as soon as Defiant gets back from vacation, your all going to be in for a rude awakening. Well, don't ever say I didn't warn you about the site rules. If you want to do things your way, maybe you should start your own forum. I didn't make the rules, and I am not "crying about them" I am just stating the facts, They are rules that are set up by the people in charge of this site, and if you don't want to play by the rules then maybe you should find someplace else to go which you will be happy with. 2 things are wrong here.

1. Streetsweeper21-You need to read the rules and forum FAQ's. They specifically state we frown upon webspeak and improper grammar and spelling.
2. knighteclipse1-You need to let the mods do the warnings, next time just report the post but don't warn other users to follow the rules. It just makes for confrontations.
