almost stock

I just have a quick question. I have one stock and one modded tsi awd. I'm keeping one stock and spending my money on the modded one instead of having two street racers. I have a boost gauge installed in the stock car and it reads nine lbs boost at wot. If i add a manual boost controller to the stock car and nothing else what can i safely turn up the boost to? thanks!

if everything else on it is good and you don't beat on it then 12-14lbs no prob

I would turn it to 12lbs max. This is on the safe side.

If its in a good state of repair you can take it up to about 13-14 psi. I wouldn't go any higher.

I got the mbc and installed it. Spent a while tuning the car and eventually set it at 12 lbs. It seems to spike at 13 first then holds steady at 12 I guess because the spring and wastegate take a second to work. One thing it doesn't boost as smoothly as the stock wastegate by itself. I'm up from 9 lbs to 12 now. I guess thats about 20 hp? I always thought it was about 7 hp per lb of boost. It runs strong I might go for 13-14 later. It's a nice upgrade, felt it was necessary because a hopped up ALERO almost beat me ! Anyway thanks for the replies everyone.
