2G Alarm stop working

For a long time like many of you I had to disconnect the battery to make my car shut up after the alarm goes off.

I eventually got a key fob and programmed it but my girlfriend washed it seven times,
so after about a year I finally got another key fob .

I’m trying to program it but nothing works,
I also can’t get the green security like to pop up on my dashboard anymore when I lock the car with my keys manually..

I can’t get the alarm to annoy me the way it used too..

What are the things I can do to run test .
I hate random variables of options to try; I’m curious on how to test any components.

Green security light now comes on if driver door is open and I lock the door from the inside....
