Can someone please tell me what all the nipples on the air intake are for? I know where the 2 on the one side closest to the engine go but I can't seem to find out where that 3rd one by itself on the backside goes ( its not the gigantic one that is for recirculating the BOV) the one goes to the Head, the other goes to somethin else and then there's one on the opposite side of the 2. help?
Also on my bov I have 2 nipples on the backside as well (Greddy Type-S) I realize the top one is where the stock hose already ran.. what about the bottom nipple? does that go to the wastegate?

Also stupid question but where do the hoses going out of the antifreeze reservoir run to? When looking at the engine one runs to the right and the one on the left came unplugged somehow and I dont know where it goes :( newb i know sorry help ###
 
On the intake, you'll have the BOV recirc tube, the valve cover breather hose, the BCS hose (should be on the radiator side/bottom area), and the Evap Emissions Canister hose, which is the thicker of the two on the engine side, next to the valve cover breather hose.

Edit: In case you didn't know, the BCS is the Boost Control Solenoid. It's a small black box mounted to the frame just under the intake. One hose leads to the wastegate, one to the turbo compressor housing, and one to the intake.

For the coolant overflow bottle, the tube on the right leads to the radiator cap/t-stat area, while the hose on the left just hangs down the side of the bottle in case the overflow bottle overflows. In other words, it's not supposed to be plugged into anything, so you didn't do anything bad. :)

For the BOV, the top nipple goes to the hose from the intake manifold. I believe the bottom nipple can be hooked to a boost source, usually the lower intercooler pipe, for better boost response. For the most part, you can just use a rubber nipple cap to cap it off and not worry about it.
 
sorry about hi-jacking this thread but i'm about to buy a dejon intake pipe and was wondering if the 2 lower nipples that face the firewall are needed? i've read that you can hook up a filter to the vavle cover for the one, but i'm not sure what the second one is for and if it is really needed. reason i'm asking is the pipe with all the nipples is $20 more than the one with just the bov nipple on it.

just go to autozone put a filter on it.

However, i raelly suggest a vented catch can...or your engine bay will be all oily

There are a few threads on how to remove the Evap Emissions Canister, but I don't think it's a common thing to do. Leaving that hose unplugged and loose in the engine bay and not plugged into the intake may result in fuel fumes floating around. As for the valve cover breather hose, as mentioned, use a catchcan of some sort and re-route the air back into the intake. The ECU is expecting it to be there and simply venting it to the atmosphere with a breather filter on the end of the valve cover may throw the A/F values off a bit. And of course, it'll make a terrible mess of your engine bay after time. So, I recommend getting the full intake pipe with all the attachments available. Later, if you decide to cap off the Evap Emissions line and do something different with the valve cover breather, you can just cap off the ports on the intake. You could easily spend that $20 on cleaning products for you engine bay if you just put a breather filter on the valve cover. :)
 
How do I remove the tubes from the intake pipe. I got the recirc off easy, that was straight forward. But I can't figure out the other three.
 
Um try pulling? There really isn't anything special, just pull them off. Maybe stick a flathead between the end of the hose and the pipe to try and break them loose. They will most likely be stuck on a little from age and the heat in the bay.
 
Hmm, I'll give it another shot. I pulled pretty good but I wasn't sure if there was a clamp or something there was missing. So I figured I would ask before I tear it apart LOL. Thank you.
