so I just got my block back from the machine shop. Main caps where held down with the stock bolts when honed.

Do I have to get this redone with arp’s holding it down? I just read about this now.

Should I just use the stock bolts?

Use whatever fastener it was align honed with.

That being said, I put a block together last year with arp’s and a kiggly girdle that was still perfectly straight, and still within out of round spec.

I had brought it in to get align honed, but didn’t need to.

You need a perfectly straight round bar and a .0001” bore gauge to check.
