why are there plugins from the stock radio that won't match with the aftermarket radio?

get an install kit. there are conversion plugs fro factory to aftermarket.

Usually when you get a after market head unit,it comes with and adapter harness to splice into your stock harness.You can also buy a plug & play harness at the audio store if you want a clean finish

It would be impossible for the aftermarket headunit companies to produce units that will work in every car, and if they did the cost would go up.

You need to get a after market plug and play harness, and splice it together with the harness that came with your aftermarket headunit.

Did your GSX Come with the premium stereo? If so look for the metra adapter harness. I can find it for you if you can't find it.

Otherwise just look for the normal harness.

definatly but the adapter harness. if you ever decides to get rid of the car and wanna keep you aftermarket radio it usually isnt a good time to try and piece together the hack job of destroying the factory harness. i was young and dumb before but we live and learn. my days of hacking the factory harness are over will always but i adapter harness hopefully you learn for our mistakes.

Hey I just got a head unit installed today, and before that all i had was the stock unit. Pretty much you need the adaptor kit like those guys are talking about. I wanted to get it installed correctly and not have to worry about it so I got best buy to do it for me. The adaptor kit was an extra 20$ on my bill. if you still haven't finished putting it in, maybe you could buy the kit from bestbuy, or just let them install it for you. they did a great job on my 2g.

and there is two different adapter kits depending on whether you have the infinity system or not. i think someone was leading into that earlier in the post.
