I bought a 1995 Eagle Talon AWD with low miles and it has an AFTERMARKET alarm. IT IS EVIL. It doesn't allow me to start my car sometimes and sometimes it will. I unhooked the fuse for the alarm still does the same thing, but the alarm light went out. I don't have the remote. My horn and power door locks don't work eather. Something is drawing power and I just need some insight. There is also a thing which I think detects motion screwed in under the steering column by the firewall (this is not oem correct?) Someone please help. I just want it out!!!

Please don't leave comments saying it might be your battery or alternator please. The battery is a few months old.

Well I think it might be your battery.

But seriously, you say that you took out the fuse for the alarm and it still does the same thing? I have a 95 TSi AWD also and mine came with an aftermarket security system as well but I have the remote so I don't have your same problem.

I'm assuming that the fuse you removed was for the STOCK alarm system. I have a problem where my STOCK alarm system will go off and cause problems for me sometimes after I disconnect the battery to do work on the car.

If it's the aftermarket system that is giving you grief I don't believe you'd find a fuse in any stock fuse locations. It probably has it's own somewhere else. A lot of the aftermarket alarm systems DO disable the starter circuit (such as my own does) and it can be a useful function if it is properly executed.

A lot of these aftermarkets have a small, black button which usually dangles somewhere under the steering wheel where all of the wiring. Holding this black button for around 10 seconds and then releasing it will disable the alarm and allow you to start the car.

My advice is to take it to a local car audio place and have them look at it. The local car audip shop here is absolutely fantastic and does all kinds of security stuff and could probably take care of it for you, or even better, get you a damn remote so you can utilize what you've already got set up anyway.

I hope that my advice may have shed some light.

Does the alarm light that you said went out happen to be the green security light on the dash?

Alright, well it's probably wired somewhere else as where. Does your battery look like it's hooked to anything that may be the system? To be honest I'm sure you'd find better luck on a vechicle security oriented website rather than a performance related website. Sounds like a specialist kind of thing. But I'm tapped on ideas. Perhaps someone else knows their way around our DSM wiring better and can tell you what to do.

 I DON'T HAVE A STOCK ALARM.....I have a red light with a switch drilled into my dash. Switch would arm/disarm aftermarket alarm, but doesn't really work without remote. I know some guys that know alot of shit on this site just waiting for one of the wisemen.

Don't get snappy with me you little snot. I was trying to give you some more information because you obviously lack any. So grow up and show some respect. If you KNOW people who have all of the answers you could have just as easily PM'ed them and saved us all the trouble of your topic.

Hey just had the same problem. The motion thing feels vibration, if you pulled the fuse most most likely it has a short or possibly getting power from one of it's function's you can easily remove it as i did just start pulling it out should be 2 wire's under the hood going to siren/horn, and positive side of battery rest under dash lock's, starter kill, ground ect I assume you can get to the actual alarm just snip wire's from alarm side and tape off back to harness.
