ok so far i know what i want. i want a dd of 300-350 whp. already turboing my car. for now it will be stock motor and internals until i can afford the motor and trans build. the turbo will be set at 5 psi so i will run less of a risk of being stranded in bfe.

i have a motor in mind thats already built by a member on this site. who iv already been talking with who has givin some advise, i just want more opinions.

so here we go- after knowing that fuel and tune is key to more hp when under boost and that i need stronger internals in the motor i planned on upgrading my clutch, pressure plate and flywheel. as well as my front axels. of coarse new motor and tranny mounts. it was suggested to get a qauife lsd. so what other items should i get plan on getting because i want the car to move not just spin

Good tires are often overlooked, but an intercooler to go with the new turbo would be good, next thing id say would be injectors and fuel pump with those built internals. And yes a good tune, a wideband is always a good idea too.

Suggestions based on experience:
Nice shock/spring setup.. agx and gold lines maybe . softer in the front, and stiffer in the rear
Polly motor mounts (all of them) only getting 2 done will cause the others to fail.
the bolt mod for the front tans motor mount (search you'll find it)
Quaife LSD
A clutch of some kind
Quaife LSD
Mayb 3.55 tans

Imo
Axles are a luxury for later. and not necessary for your goal
Same with the flywheel..

and yes tires. a good tire is nitto 555r

Perhaps an EBC. that way you can have lower boost in lower gears and then switch to high boost in upper gears.

and yes: get a wideband, EGT and boost/vac gauge.. and oil press, water temp and fuel press. those are great too.. but i think hes already got/getting those..

Some very good ideas! I would like to point out that the suspension and tire advice is a better setup for drag racing and is not ideal for something like autocross so OP should take that into account. You can also get a cat back exhaust of a gst and a test pipe :shhh: don't tell the tree huggers.

True, good point, i kinda assumed drag ; ) if auto X is your goal, i would strongly advise.. no wait.. i'm telling you.. LOL to get a crank scraper with baffles and windage tray. but even for drag, its a nice part to have

Correct me if I'm wrong but arn't you the member who is selling said "built motor"? Stop being such a cheap sob and throw it in for free.

no this is just a daily driver. i do have a fmic. i do plan on runnig at the track every now and then but want it built first. the exhaust is covered. 2 1/2 inch down pipe which i then expanded to 3 inches before a high flow cat and continued 3 inch back. i do also have a three gauge piller pod with an oil pressure gauge, boost/vac and air to fuel. also putting in a walboro 255 fuel pump and a 1:1 regulator. i was looking into the megan coilovers for suspension then a 17 inch rim so i could have a little larger tire but my main consern is that after getting the motor built and i can turn the boost up more is that i dont break something in the drive train. hence my concern with the axles, lsd, clutch and all. i have no problem in saying im new to turbo set ups. i found out alot since joining this site and reading all i can not to mention working with the guy thats been building the turbo set up on my car. this isnt my normal feild of work when it comes to cars so thats why i turned to those who have put in the time and have the knowledge i need.

the axles will be fine man, the weak point is that diff.. get a quaife lsd, and sont worry.. the trans are pretty solid, at least for what your wanting out of it. a good clutch and LSD, will go along way.

With this setup you will need to run MS or portfueler fyi.

Agreed, I think MS piggy back would be the way to go.. but then again for your goal, PF ins a bad choice either. you would be right at the threshold of almost needing timing control once you get to the 15+ psi range.. but depends on ## set up, some dont need timing control till 19, 19 + psi, some need it earlier.. I would suggest piggy back MS, that way if you wanna do something more later, your not limited.

builder went with a BEGI fmu. he originaly bought it for his car then went a diffrent route so he sold it to me for 100 bucks. unfortunatly i wont have the fully built car done before the import night at the local track but i will have the turbo set up done so my car will at least make an appearance LOL
