ok so i read a little bit about everything for exhaust
right now my car is NA, but i'm going turbo by spring/summer, should i just wait to buy 3" piping? or my big question is, can i buy 2.5" piping run NA with that till i get turbo and then can i run my turbo setup with the 2.5" piping? or should i jsut stay stock and get the 3" piping and install it all with the turbo?

opinions/answers?

oh yeah and one more question, if i run 2.5" piping with turbo, will that be too much back pressure like buildup wise? idk. or can that be a good thing and give me torque? i don't know i was reading some threads and backpressure gives you torgue?

Just hold on to your money and wait till you get the turbo and everything else and then slap on the 3" system.

Yes you will be fine with 2.5in for your turbo. Remember that the us turbos dont come with 3in piping stock. When I switched to my 3in exhaust I noticed a BIG difference in spool time (shorter) and power (MORE!)

I say you should stick with the stock exhaust until you get the turbo setup and then install a nice 3" system. The basic rule with turbo exhaust is to reduce exhaust pressure to a minimum.

When someone says an exhaust system "gives you torque" should be restated to say it gives you torque at a different point in the RPM range. The low end torque benefits of a smaller diameter exhaust system are noticed way more often than the increase in horsepower from revving your car to the moon with a large diameter exhaust system.

Oh yea. I also dont run a cat. But from what I've heard you dont loose much with after market cats. She sure is smelly though. :(

Just look around for a 3" for your model or the gst NOT the GSX. The GSX's exhaust pipe routing is different.

^what he said, just get a gst exhaust. IMO though (and I'm sure many here will share this opinion) save some money and get an ebay tsudo exhaust instead of a name brand exhaust. I don't know anyone who's been disappointed with them, including myself. They look good, fit good and sound good.

As for your original question, you won't notice a ridiculous power decrease if you go with a 3" now, so if you want to get an exhaust now go ahead. It's really up to you.

I orignially had the stock exhaust installed for a while after I was boosted. After I put the 3" exhaust on, it was only the second time I was actually able to feel a power difference in the car (the other time being when the turbo was installed) I also noticed lower egt's and quicker spool up.

wait wait wait, now do i get, say i wanna get a megan racing exhaust, do i get a 3 inch piping for the gs? or do i get 3 inch piping exhaust made for the gst/gsx???
i'm confused now

Buy for a gst. The gsx exhaust is meant to go under the rear suspension. The gst's exhaust routing is identical to your gs/rs.

Some gst 3" exhaust do go under the rear cross member. For example the apexi n1 and if I am not mistaken the greddy evo 2 for the gst also goes under the cross member. That's why they come out in an angle. The gsx exhaust on the other hand is different.

its nice at an angle because it has a slightly less bend rather than systems that bend for the muffler to stick out straight back. the slightly less bent, for lack of better wording, compared to the one that bends all the way is supposed to create better flow. if it is even noticeable. has anyone done a comparison on the two?
