Right now I have a 96 RS with 4-1 header and downpipe (2.25"), high flow cat (2.5"), and HP racing catback (2.5"). Now im having a leak problem where the cat and downpipe connect. So I am bringing this to a muffler shop...should I weld together what i have now or go with brand new madrel bent 2.25" from the downpipe back? What I also want to know is if there is kind of deepness or sound that is taken away from 2.5" piping down to 2.25?

thanks

2.25 wont be as loud. You might just neet a gasket for the DP/cat leak. But it would probably just be easier to weld what you have than the get all new piping.

My guess might be bad gasket as posted above. You might as well have them take the flex-pipe and have them make a madrel bent pipe from the header to the cat-back...if they weld it on your wouldnt have any leaks but dpeneding on where you live you might not want it so it won't hurt you during emissions season :p

we arent allowed to have mod lists as profiles anymore....yours is going bye bye too chris

Only a small pic and ure name ;)

y is this site so strict. if a few people don't like what you post it is deleted. but lift your car. a flex pipe leak is loud and nasty. put your hand close to the flex pipe and you should feel the leaking exhaust. if you don't , you leak is not at the flex pipe.
