Aeromotive fpr air leak...

I have a problem setting base fuel pressure on my afpr. I have ecmlink v3. and with the key on, I turn on the pump in the ecmlink program and I hear a hissing air sound coming from the regulator. The fuel pressure gauge doesn't Change with the vacuum line off either. I read about using teflon on the adjustment screw if that's where its coming from.

Can I simply take the adjustment screw out and put the tape on or do I have to relieve the pressure first?

I would relieve the pressure just to be safe.

You want teflon tape on the adjustment screw as well as the gauge threads.

The fuel pressure won't change when removing the vacuum line if the car is off, as there is no vacuum being drawn through the line to change the fuel pressure. You're doing it the way I recommend to people with link - zip tie the vacuum line on the AFPR and forget about it.

It's been a while but how do I relieve the fuel pressure?

Unplug fuel pump (remove rear seat and fuel pump cover), then try to start car. If it starts, let it go until it dies. If not, try 2-3 times to start and stop.
