I know there are a couple threads on this but they are all over year old. Im installing my UEGO this weekend, where is the best location? In one thread they were going off the rear o2, and others were mounting there own location. I have a deleted CAT so i was thinking the rear o2 would be fine right?

I'm assuming you're talking about the WBo2 sensor and not the gauge itself? Generally speaking you want the sensor to be about 3 feet from the exhaust manifold/head. Too far back and the gas temperatures will not consistently be hot enough to get an accurate reading. Too close and it will over heat. The sensor should also be mounted at roughly a 11 o clock position when viewed as an exhaust cut away (hope that makes sense). Good luck withit

Mine was in the rear o2 position for quite a while but I had it moved when I was having exhaust work done anyway. The only issue I ever had was that I would occasionally get leaks at the gasket from the downpipe to the catback since my downpipe is somewhat larger than my catback. I've never noticed a difference in my logs from those leaks but for peace of mind I moved it up.

Routing the wiring is the bigger concern IMO. It took some work and some percussive modifying but I was able to get my wiring for my UEGO to come up through the grommet under the drivers seat where the second o2 sensor is routed already. This made installation a ton easier since I didn't have to drill any holes and I had to pull up less carpet. I did need to remove the seat though. The only drawback to that is that now when I listen to AM radio I get a minor buzzing and beeping but I'm not sure if this is because of my routing near the antenna or just having the UEGO at all. FM radio is unaffected.

Well the thing is i haved my megan downpipe but not installed yet. So if you guys think its better i can probably get it mounted on before i install just need to know what flang to buy.

Your UEGO should have come with a bung. If I were you I would just put it in the secondary o2 spot if you have a way to deal with the CEL. If not then as long as the DP is out if you can weld or have a buddy that would do it cheap then by all means I would go for it. Don't necessarily take positioning the sensor at 11 o'clock to be gospel since there usually isn't enough room on the car to fit it in that way. Anywhere from 9-11 o'clock is great since the point of positioning it in this manner is to stop condensation from resting on the tip.

I was told by a guy at a shop anywhere from 10-2 o'clock is fine. like the_mork said it just to keep condensation from building up

If you have the instruction manual it also states this inside of it as well as the length down the dp to drill the bung, cannot remember correctly, but something like 19in, and 36in or so if turboed... Havent looked at it since I installed it...

I also have the megan dp and it was already installed and just went to a garage/shop and told them where I would like it to be drilled and welded on, wasnt too expensive either to get someone to do it right.

Here's a link to the manual if you do not have it...

Quickly glancing at it.... Sensor should be mounted ~10 degress from horizontal upwards...
