So im going to install this cool ebay big 16g turbo, plus a 190 hlp fuel pump and 660cc injectors, but since im doing the injectors i thought i would just do the fuel rail too, a aem one for about 120 on ebay... but will that affect my smog test? visual? should i paint it black?

As long as they cant tell its been changed it wont affect the visual on your smog.

All of the other stuff is whats going to affect your smog not just the fuel rail. And its likely that you will still pass smog even with all of that stuff you have listed installed. Just make sure that you have a good cat.

If you are not buying the fuel rail for looks, then why are you buying it? Stock one works fine.

so the fuel rail isnt an upgrade? im not looking for looks, im just looking for quality parts that will make my car happy... then what parts should i be looking to replace with aftermaket stuff? i was under the impression that the aem rail would help my injectors..humm inject better? im hearing i should really upgrade to a fmic

You are going to need something to control the bigger injectors. I would say DSM Link, but you will need a EPROM ECU and laptop. If you go with a AFC you should still buy a logger.

Correct, you will not need a fuel rail. Save your money and buy a logger and SAFC you will need it with those 660's however, you may encounter tuning problems with an SAFC since they can only control up to 650's but 10 more you still should be ok.

Be careful with ebay turbos do a search here and you should find some info on them!

Yes, a FMIC will be helpful if your running high psi. For now keep it under 17psi and you should be fine.

A fuel rail will have no effect on emissions.

Chinese proverb "If it isn't broken don't fix it!"

Yes, DsmLink will cost you more. But it gives you more control and room to grow if/when you want more power. Plus there is alot of helpful support on the DsmLink forums.

Trying to scale injectors that large with an SAFC (MAF trickery) may not be a good idea as it will place you in places of the fuel & timing map where you don't want to be...

What are your Hp goals?

If they're around 350whp 650's with supporting mods will do just fine. Many DSMer's are using this setup with excellent results.

If you don't want to pay $700+ for DSMlink and Eprom ECU. Look into the ECU+ tuning piggyback system. Here's the Link to their website, you don't need an eprom ECU. Just take a look it's another option other than DSMlink.
