Finally getting around to upgrading my stock clutch. Need Help choosing a good clutch setup.
My cars current mods.:shhh:

Small 16g
Evo III manifold
Evo mas
Rebuilt Head with undercut valves and 3g lifters
DKS 264/272 cams
Walbro 255 fuel pump
550 injectors
AFPR
Greddy pofec a boost controller
Data logger
Full 3inch turbo back exhuast
Full front mount intercooler with 2.5 piping
Stage 3 keydiver chip

Havent pushed her passed 16lbs or 17lbs of boost in fear of toasting my stock clutch. Just need a strong and reliable clutch to hold the power i want to make. Pretty sure with my current setup im around 300hp to the wheels. Hoping with 22-24lbs of boost i can squeeze a little more out of my s16g. This car is my daily driver and see's the occasional drag use. Any info or your experiances would be greatly appreciated. THANKS:thumb:

I like the act 2600 with a street disk and a fidanza flywheel . it doesn't slip at all and it revs quick . but that's just what i like.

run a fidanza flywheel and their 4.3 clutch. IMO its a good setup. ACT is overhyped i think, i've seen so many of the pressure plates fall apart. try to find people with some setups you're considering and drive those. that should help you.

Of course.

ACT 2100

Xact Lightweight flywheel

Exedy clutch disk, OR southbend clutch disk

if its not for a DD, or maybe light DD and you dont care when the disk engages, get a 6-puck or even 4-puck sprung disk.

Imo i love the exedy full disk because it provides the perfect amount of low end slippage to get my FWD going without wheelspin. I think you may enjoy it even with an AWD too.

yeah ^^ thats a god choice for an AWD. but an ACT 2100 im sure will server his needs especially since i dont think he'll be running a ton of HP.

Just make sure you stay away from act clutch disks. ACT PP/flywheel and any disk you want depending on what your looking for.

A clutch like a 4-puck unsprung is pain for DD. You will get an ungodly amount of chatter paired with a lightweight flywheel its disgusting. Thats what was in my car at first, and i noticed no difference so far with exedy's power handling capability, just the slipping is different.

i currently run a zoom stg 1 stay away from it does not hold at my level. i have a sbr 4000 that i will be installing shortly i was told it is a rebadged 2600. i have ran a 2600 in my 1g for a while and loved it

In all honesty the fidanza lightweight flywheel mated with the fidanza 3.2 kevlar 4 puck clutch seems to be the best bang for your buck. Thats what i plan on running with a similar setup :hellyeah: there are lots of good reviews on that clutch and the flywheel has been tried and true here in the dsm community

ACT2600 and Fidanza. This has held up for a while now, love it. I kill clutches. This is clutch number 7 for me and it's taken all the abuse.

I run the Fidanza 4.3 and a fidanza flywheel in my laser. Excellent setup. I like it much better than the ACT 2600 with street disk. My car is setup similar to yours.

do a Spec 2+ clutch with Fidanza aluminum flywheel....holds great amount of torque, revs super quick and the peddle pressure is actually lighter than OEM!!!!!

i just installed this clutch in my car due to a act2600 dragging problem, i couldnt shift fast above 6k, its hard for me to belive this clutch is gonna hold up to a mid 11 sec car, how fast is your car, how many miles on that clutch

My old GST had an almost identical setup to yours minus maybe a few things. I ran an act streetlight flywheel and 2100 and never had a slipping issue. It was on there for a good 50k at least. I just forget when i put it on.

Launching at the track power always went right to the wheels. Which in turn spun like no damn tomorrow.....

I've been considering an ACT 2100 and street disk with a Fidanza flywheel. But the Spec products are awfully tempting; I'll probably go with them just to see what it's like. Anyone else notice their Stage 3 costs less than the 2+ on their site? So they're paying you for the ability to hold the extra 15 pounds of torque? :p

+1 on the Fidanza/Act 2600 combo.
I'd also recommend the 2600 pressure plate w/ Southbend disk for more holding power than the Act Street disk

I've also seen people have success with the XTD clutches on Ebay if you're on a tight budget. The S4 Plate and S3 sprung disk is a good combo

i have a 98 gs-t. just replaced the clutch and tranny. now i have horrible clutch drag... help?

make sure the master cylinder is adjusted correctly -- look at jackstransmissions on youtube and that will show you if you dont know how to do that

if theres still drag -- look into your slave next -- if its new, bleed it again, if its original then look to replace it

if there still is a problem then your fork assembly inside your tranny is not installed correctly

hope this helps

The 2600 ACT holds pretty good power. However it's not the best shifting clutch. Most of my DSM freinds have switched to QM twin disc,it shifts much faster, easier and holds alot more power. I'm switching over to QM and will be selling 2 sets of ACT 2600 and 1 Fidanza flywheel pretty soon. I suggest investing on QM instead.

I have to agree with the ATC 2600 and the fidanza flywheel for the money.. The twin disk clutch costs alot of money.. ATC is a better bang for your buck.. But if you have the money the twin disk is the best...
