Adjusting Clutch Pedal Height

Hi all,

Trying to adjust my clutch pedal height (~5 1/2", trying to get to 7") on my '90 TSi AWD-
I can't get the damn 14mm jam nut on the cruise control switch under the dash loosened up, there's just no room! I can get the wrench on, but there's no room to loosen... anyone got a trick?

A sledgehammer. On a more serious not though, possibly a crows foot wrench would get at it.
