Adding fuel injector cleaner for smog

Dumb question but i forgot... smog is due and it is test only. Do I have to pass that test, i forgot.

Does adding fuel injector cleaner in my fuel increase my chances of passing smog? Or does it even matter or it decrease my chances? It's lucas injector cleaner.

Oh well Im on my way. Wish me luck... hope the damn ecu is ready since I took off the battery a few hundred miles ago.

the injector cleaner is kinda hit or miss, but as far as the ecu goes you should be fine for the test, it will start to learn after you start it up and idle for a few minutes and take it for a test drive

so i understand you took it so how did it do? well my opinion is that if you use the cleaner it will blow out what it is cleaning out of the motor and therefore make it worse for the test. hope you passed.later

Nope all the shops were closed. I'll see if i can do it tomorrow. I'll keep ya'll posted!

clean oil (will give you the best results), oil filter, clean air filter, new plugs, fuel filter and good gas cap (if they test it most places do) and these should help you out the most. good luck

Aight guys. Barely passed my emission's test with my HC being 59, the limit is 60. I was hanging to life and had my fingers and legs crossed .All the CO and NO are good. I decided not to use fuel injector cleaner. It might of burn cleaner though. The tech said the reason my HC were so high was either it's spark plug, wires, coil pack, or cat converter related. I'm assuming it's my spark since my car is throwing a lot of white smoke. No head gasket problems here!
After two smog places because my ecu wasn't monitor ready... so call.
The third tech did something to get it working.
