Hello everyone- My girlfriend has a 97 gst convertible. So far we have added an intake, 1g blow off valve, and a dave brode upper intercooler pipe. I know this may be out of order, but I got a good deal on buying a supra tt smic. It hasn't been installed yet. I haven't gotten a real boost gauge yet either....

I am leary to install the supra smic because I don't know how much it would raise the boost level. I am not quite sure what level I am at now without the intercooler change. I don't really want the attention of the pillar boost gauges and am looking for suggestions on other places to mount one inconspicously.

Curious to hear everyones thoughts on what the net result of installing this intercooler would be on the stock turbo, boost gauge locations, and any other ideas.

I don't think adding the supra SMIC on a T25 will result in any great gains honestly, the turbo is just too small..in fact the supra side mount might actually case some spool delay. If you can get the supra SMIC for a great deal then get it and use it when you upgrade to a 16G or higher.

with this intercooler, it is likely you WILL notice more boost being made from the turbo. It seemed like every mod I put on my car, FMIC, Exhaust, intake, BOV, all made my boost go higher on its own. Actually, it went up to 24 on its own the other day. so get a boost gauge and mount it where that guy showed you a couple links above. Good luck.

As far as cleanly mounting gauges, maybe you should check out the Autometer gauge cluster trim replacement. It will allow you to mount two gauges where your speedometer/tachometer gauges are located. You can get it from Jegs.
