hey all I'm getting my built motor back tomorrow and I'm looking for a clutch to buy. A friend of mine has a 2600 with street disk for sale for a pretty good price and I was wondering if that would be ok to use. I'm shooting for around 500hp. The car would be daily driven up until break in period for clutch and motor is finished then only driven on weekends to car shows and to test and tunes.

Ok well ive decied im going for the act 2900 w/ full kevlar street disk per recommendation of dsmtuner/ wiseman Twicks69.

My last question is weres the best place to pick up a act 2900 pressure plate by itself.
They cost like 400 on act website w/ just pressure plate alone, and i dont want to ebay something like this
but im hopeing i can find it for a good 40-50 dollars less somewhere else?
Anyone w/ experience of were to get the 2900 cheapest and quick?

I'm surprised he didnt reccomend you go with a ceramic disc. Isnt most kevlar street discs an organic mix? If so they are great for the street but when your at the track you can destroy it if you are doing multible runs. They need a lot of time to cool between launches.

The ceramic disc can be launched over and over handling a lot more abuse. They also grab extremely hard. Not to mention they are ligher due to the design and cool quicker since there is less material too cool. I have a 4 puck sprung disc and the chadder is not that bad, just have to start a little higher in rpms when driving. I love it. Now if its a full kevlar disc I dont have experience with one of those.
