Accurate digital gauges?

I'm looking to buy some digital gauges for my car and I'm not too sure on what type i should get. I want accurate gauges or very close to accurate but i don't really want to spend 160+ per gauge on AEM. I was looking into glow shift gauges but I've read bad things about them and how non-accurate they are. Any input would be appreciated.

I'd go with the autometer digital gauges but won't be cheap. Better to spend more on good gauges.

Since you eliminated Glowshift then your choices are limited. Prosport has digital gauges but in my opinion they come across as Glowshift clones. That leaves Autometer, Innovate and AEM. I'm an AEM guy. People are always selling AEM gauges, a good place to check is EvoM as members there are selling AEM gauges almost daily for nice prices.

I have bouth glowshift and prosport for boost and oil pressure and innovate for wideband.
Prosport is much better than glowshift but the problem with glowshift are their sender units are not good enough. I just changed sending units and glowshift is a good gauge for something not that "so" important like oil pressure. Sorry if I'm speaking nonsense right now but I'm kinda drunk in the car in the middle of nowhere looking at my gauges happy new year guys

Just to clear this up, glowshift and prosport are the exact same. Senders are identical and the gauge modules are identical. They're even made in the same factory. It's like tiens vs megans vs ksports etc. All the same coilover built in the same factory, just painted pretty colors. That being said, my prosport evos seem to be holding up fine. They're kind of for sale if anyone's interested, just looking to go to the green/white instead of the red/blue I have.

I have Glowshift boost and oil pressure gauges. They have held up great and have never given me a reason to doubt their accuracy. In fact, my Glowshift gauges have outlived my AEM wideband gauge which randomly died after only 5k miles.

How long have you had your glow shift gauges for? And how do you have them connected

Are they worth 160+? They haven't failed on you or have you had any sorts of problems with them?

The Glowshift gauges have the same 5k miles, all 3 were brand new when installed. They are all powered by pigtail fuses in the kick panel fuse box (left foot area).

I'm not saying all AEM gauges are junk just because I had a bad experience, but it shows they aren't invincible either. I personally couldn't justify spending $160 for a gauge in a street driven car. It just seems overkill with cheaper (yet still effective) options like Glowshift. Excluding widebands and other tuning related items if course.

The proboem your going to ulhave is finding a good gauge thats not going to cost alot! Good gauges tend to be a bit pricey anyway, my innovate DB gauge for wideband is great and because its great I went and bought the mtx-d duel function gauges, not only are they great they can daisy chain aswell so better for logging.

Ive not had any experience with aem but my friends have them and only a few complain but I think they just expect the ultimate gauge. I like the defi gauges but then your talking mega $$$$$

Defi gauges are great as well. You can get a single screen showing everything instead of many gauges if you don't want to clutter up the interior. In my opinion the best looking gauges out there. They also come with a playback feature to check everything after you've tested things out, so you don't have to constantly look around at results when doing a pull, you can keep your eyes on the road. They are a bit expensive though, but you pay for the features.

Technically they dont but they have released a mew multi gauge which is digital and is a double din type system, also most of there gauges look mechanical but its full of electrical stepper motors and seems more electrical/digital based then other gauges like your average mechanical gauges,

OP, bottom line is quality gauges cost quality money. I'm an AEM guy, I started on Glowshift gauges and had no complaints. I didn't have my GSX then. I made the switch because I stepped my performance game up and in my opinion plus the opinion of others who know way more than me and have been around this game way longer than me Glowshift gauges aren't a "serious" gauge if you can understand what I mean. If you have a stock engine or close to it and want a light show then go for Glowshift or Prosport, they work and will do the job. If you ever decide to get in deep with your mods you'll "outgrow" the Glowshift and Prosport and come to AEM, Innovate or Defi.

To the OP: why do you want digital gauges? Humans can't read digital gauges as quickly and accurately as analog gauges. That's why you see so few digital gauges in actual race-cars.

Auto meter IMO is the only gauge to buy, there customer service is the best and there gauges are the best! Glowshift are horrible, AEM always felt cheaply made, and I've heard great things about DEFI but they are stupid expensive

You want some terrible, digital gauges? Try the programmable, OBD-reading, PLX things. They came in my car and I hate them, hate them, hate them. They are only still there because my daughter likes to play with the (programmable) pretty colors.

I've got the PLX wideband in my car, it came in the car when I bought it and it seams to work great but I haven't put very many miles on the car

True. But i like the way digital gauges look. Is there a difference in accuracy between digital or analog? Or is it just the conpany that makes them?
