Belt slipping off pulley, smells like burning, excessive wear on belt edges.
---
Replaced idler pulley, power steering pump, acc. belt. Spent time fidgeting around with the tensioner. Can't seem to get the belt to stay on the AC Compressor pulley. Belt tries to come off left edge of AC compressor pulley.

The pulley seems fine. There is play left and right (in and out of the compressor) though I'm not sure this may be the issue.

Previous owner lost the long tensioner bolt. It probably snapped. We put in a new one. Not sure if this could cause issues.

I know you can get a shorter belt and use it to drive the psp only. However, where I live, it gets to 120°F. I need that AC. I think I might find the compressor pulley somewhere and replace the old one, but I'm not sure. Does anyone see anything I'm not seeing.

Why is it that your belt lacks one groove on the A/C compressor but not the crankshaft pulley? Are you using Dodge Neon pulleys or accesories? The Eclipse/Talon 420A had 5 grooves for that belt while the Neon only had 4. You seem to have 4 rather than 5.

When I was running a Neon UDP, I had to set the belt on the outermost groove to ride straight. You may want to fully remove the tensioner, otherwise could excessively wear and stress the belt.

Found out last owner was a bit r*tarded and put the wrong one on. They ran over something and pushed in the oil pan, chipped the crankshaft pulley. Must've nicked the AC pulley too somehow
